• We created a top-performing, rapidly growing middle school honors academy that has already emerged as a leader on the state test.
• We've added Chromebooks at all middle schools and wifi upgrades across the district.
• We continue to look for ways to reduce operating expenses. Recently, we participated in an energy savings program that helped us earn $120,000 per year by curtailing our energy consumption during peak times. This past year, we earned $250,000!
• We've welcomed new leaders who are bringing fresh eyes, new ideas and expertise to teaching and learning, special education, communications and community relations.
• We are leading the way in bullying prevention with our Jurdy program at middle schools and high schools.
• We've introduced a new and improved report card for our youngest learners, with clearer targets that give parents a more accurate glimpse into their child's progress.
• We're helping students get a head start on college with over 25 Advanced Placement courses, 16 dual enrollment courses through Delaware Tech, the University of Delaware and Wilmington University, and accelerated programs like the High School Honors Academy, Early College Academy and Cambridge Academy.
• Our positive behavior programs are earning statewide recognition.
• We received a $600,000 grant in 2018 which we're using to complete a number of safety and security upgrades at schools across the district.
• We have business, marketing and agriculture students competing at the national level every year in popular competitions like BPA, DECA and FFA.
