What is VOICES?

The Greene County VOICES Committee is a survivor-led volunteer group that aims to serve as a voice of hope and change for survivors of domestic and sexual violence in southwest Missouri. VOICES members will share our stories and experiences to raise awareness of domestic violence and its impacts, provide resources and education to those affected by domestic and sexual violence, and make recommendations for improved systemic responses as we work towards a future in which everyone, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, religion or immigration status feel supported in pursuing lives free from abuse.

Current Committee Members include Jamie Willis, Janice Thompson, Kate Reyes Sam, Lisa Saylor, Lori Wanamaker, and Stephany Jones.

How is the VOICES Committee connected to the Greene County Family Justice Center (FJC)?

The Greene County VOICES Committee is an independent and volunteer-led group of survivors that supports the work of the Greene County Family Justice Center by ensuring survivor input and perspective leads service provision at the FJC, by identifying systematic gaps in our community, and by educating and engaging the community through sharing personal stories and experiences.

The Greene County Family Justice Center is a community collaboration of public and private agencies dedicated to ending domestic violence and resulting victimizations through prevention and coordinated response by providing comprehensive client-centered, empowerment services in a single location.
