By downloading, installing, accessing, or using Voice Recorder: Audio Editor, Voice Recorder PRO, or any related version of the app (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”) and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not download, access, or use the App.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and JanoGroup LLC (“JanoGroup,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are in the European Economic Area, you must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required by applicable local law. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the App.
The App provides tools for recording, saving, organizing, editing, playing back, exporting, transcribing, and sharing audio recordings on a mobile device.
Depending on the version of the App, your device capabilities, subscription status, operating system support, region, and permissions, the App may include features such as:
Voice recording and playback
Recording management, including search, rename, delete, and sharing
Audio trimming and editing tools
Audio format and quality controls
Speech-to-text transcription features
Export and sharing tools using device and platform share options
Subscription-based access to premium features
Ads or sponsored content in free access tiers
The App and all features are provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, ongoing availability of any feature, or that any output, transcription, recording, or export will meet your expectations or requirements.
The App does not require a traditional user account to access core features. However, the App may use device-level, platform-level, or vendor-provided identifiers to validate purchases, subscriptions, entitlements, advertising settings, attribution, fraud prevention, or service access.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and for all activity conducted through the App on your device.
You are also responsible for all recordings, transcription requests, exports, shares, and other activity performed through the App, and for ensuring that your use of the App complies with applicable law and these Terms.
The App may offer both free and paid access levels.
Free access may include only a limited set of features. Paid access may unlock additional functionality, such as premium recording tools, transcription, advanced editing, expanded export options, ad-free use, longer recording limits, or other premium features.
Access to both free and paid features may be limited based on factors such as feature type, recording duration, usage count, device conditions, subscription status, platform rules, abuse-prevention controls, operational requirements, or other conditions.
To maintain service reliability, protect third-party services, manage infrastructure and provider costs, promote fair access, prevent fraud or abuse, and preserve product stability, we may apply reasonable usage limits, technical restrictions, rate limits, cooldowns, feature locks, fair use controls, or anti-abuse protections to any feature or access tier.
These controls may be based on factors including:
Feature type or workflow
Free or paid tier status
Recording length or number of uses
Device, platform, session, or entitlement status
Region, provider constraints, or operating system support
Suspected automation, fraud, misuse, or abusive behavior
Any references in the App, paywalls, marketing, or purchase screens to terms such as “unlimited,” “premium,” “unrestricted,” or similar language are subject to these reasonable technical, operational, fair use, legal, and anti-abuse protections. Paid access does not guarantee infinite, uninterrupted, or abuse-free use.
We may change, suspend, enforce, or update usage limits, feature availability, feature names, subscription offerings, or access conditions at any time when reasonably necessary for operational, legal, security, provider, store, product, or business reasons. Where required by applicable law, we will provide notice of material changes.
If a limit or protection measure is triggered, you may need to wait before using a feature again, reduce usage, verify eligibility, or satisfy another applicable condition. An upgrade to another tier may be available in some cases, but not guaranteed.
We may suspend or restrict access, without liability, if we reasonably believe that usage is abusive, fraudulent, unauthorized, automated in an improper manner, threatens service stability, violates these Terms, or results in unusual or excessive consumption inconsistent with normal personal use.
You are solely responsible for all audio, text, names, metadata, and other content that you create, record, upload, store, export, transcribe, or share using the App.
You represent and warrant that:
You have the legal right and permission to record, upload, use, export, and share the content you use with the App.
You will comply with all applicable recording, consent, wiretapping, privacy, surveillance, copyright, publicity, and other laws.
If your recordings include identifiable individuals, copyrighted material, confidential information, or sensitive data, you have obtained any permissions or consents required by law.
You retain ownership of your original content. By using content with the App, you grant JanoGroup a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to process, transmit, reproduce, and use that content solely as necessary to operate the App, fulfill your requests, validate entitlements, support transcription or sharing workflows, prevent abuse, and maintain the service.
The App may allow you to record conversations, meetings, interviews, ideas, reminders, or other audio. Laws regarding recording consent vary by jurisdiction. In some places, recording another person without consent may be unlawful.
You are solely responsible for understanding and complying with the laws that apply to your location and the location of anyone you record.
The App may also allow you to share recordings, exports, or transcript text using platform sharing tools such as Messages, Mail, Files, AirDrop, copy and paste, or other supported share destinations on your device. Once content is shared outside the App, its handling is governed by the receiving app, service, or platform, not by JanoGroup.
Transcription features may rely on Apple-provided speech recognition technologies or other supported platform services. Transcription results may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or unavailable.
You are responsible for reviewing any transcription before relying on, using, saving, distributing, or sharing it.
Transcriptions must not be relied on for legal, financial, medical, safety-critical, employment, compliance, or other high-risk purposes without independent verification.
You agree not to:
Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Record or share content in violation of applicable consent, privacy, or surveillance laws
Submit, export, or distribute illegal, harmful, infringing, abusive, deceptive, or defamatory content
Infringe the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, confidentiality, or contractual rights of others
Use the App with content you do not have permission to use
Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to access proprietary systems, service logic, or source code, except where prohibited by law
Bypass subscriptions, payment systems, feature gates, limits, entitlement checks, or security controls
Use bots, scripts, automation, scraping, instrumentation, or other unauthorized means to manipulate, access, or extract from the App or its services
Interfere with or disrupt the App, its infrastructure, or related provider services
Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity or rights
Use the App to distribute malware, spam, or malicious content
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you violate these Terms.
Payments for subscriptions or in-app purchases are processed through the Apple App Store under Apple’s rules and policies. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
Subscriptions may automatically renew unless canceled through your App Store account settings before the applicable renewal date.
We may use third-party services, such as RevenueCat, to validate subscription status, manage entitlements, and support subscription-related operations.
The App may also use third-party providers such as Google AdMob for advertising in free access tiers, as well as Apple services or other platform frameworks for permissions, transcription, attribution, diagnostics, or related app functionality.
Pricing, free trial availability, subscription options, included features, paywall language, entitlement rules, and access conditions may change over time in accordance with applicable law and App Store rules.
Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple’s policies unless otherwise required by law.
Subscription access remains subject to these Terms, including our fair use, technical, operational, and anti-abuse protections. A subscription provides access to the paid tier we make available, but does not guarantee unlimited, uninterrupted, or unrestricted use beyond those protections.
To support subscriptions, attribution, fraud prevention, app monetization, and provider integrations, the App may communicate with third-party services and platform APIs, including Apple services, RevenueCat, Google AdMob, and related SDKs.
These integrations may use platform-level or device-level identifiers, attribution tokens, subscription status data, or ad-related signals, as permitted by your device settings, platform rules, and applicable law.
The App, including its software, code, interface, design, layout, branding, logos, text, graphics, and related intellectual property, is owned by JanoGroup LLC or its licensors.
Except for the limited rights expressly granted under these Terms, no ownership rights in the App are transferred to you.
We do not claim ownership of your original recordings or other original content you create using the App.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, JanoGroup and its affiliates, licensors, service providers, contractors, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including damages for loss of recordings, transcripts, exports, profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or relating to your use of the App.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of:
The amount you paid through the App in the twelve months preceding the claim, or
Ten U.S. dollars (US$10) if no payment was made
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless JanoGroup LLC and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, licensors, partners, and service providers from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to:
Your recordings, transcripts, exports, or other content
Your use or misuse of the App
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of applicable law
Your violation of any third-party rights, including privacy, consent, publicity, confidentiality, or intellectual property rights
We may modify, suspend, restrict, or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time.
We may also update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last Updated” date at the top of this document. Your continued use of the App after the updated Terms become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the District of Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
