The Research Group Clinical Mass Spectrometry Hospital of the LMU
The overall goal of the group is the application and further development of mass spectrometry for better care of our patients. The group is scientifically interdisciplinary with PhD experts from medicine, pharmacy and food chemistry. There are numerous collaborations with a wide range of clinical departments and working groups nationally and internationally.
Focal points are:
- Scientific bio-analytics and translational diagnostics
- Development of mass spectrometry-based methods for clinical laboratory diagnostics
- Therapeutic drug monitoring of antibiotics and other pharmaceuticals
- Automation and integration in clinical diagnostic mass spectrometry applications in private-
public partnership and government-funded projects
- Exploring the prospects of industrialized mass spectrometry applications in clinical
laboratories
- Analytical standardization, metrological traceability and development of reference
measurement methods with particular focus on therapeutic drug monitoring
- Process standardization, quality and risk management in clinical mass spectrometry
