INFORMATION for MEMBERS

VENTURE OUT ELECTRONICS CLUB

You MUST be wearing your Venture Out ID BADGE for admittance to the Electronics Building

HOURS

Between 7am-9pm, but access is available ONLY when a Monitor is present.  (Covid-19)

MONITORS

• Control access to the building

• Control the number of members allowed in the building

• Check for badges and face masks

• Help with faxes

• Make sure the paper levels are current

• Help with keeping folks at a safe distance.

• Monitors are volunteers and should NOT be expected to provide any technical support.  If you need technical assistance, visit one of the Windows and Mac SIGs weekly.

EQUIPMENT

• We have multiple Mac and Windows computers and a single Linux  system.

• There is a wireless network for those with personal laptops.

LOG IN:

• You will find computers usually in a SLEEP state.

  • Simply move the mouse or press a key on the keyboard to wake up the computer.

  • IMPORTANT:  Please do NOT shut down any computer after use.
    Just let the computer go back to sleep

PRINTING

• Multiple laser printers (B&W and Color) and a wireless printer are available

• Please select the B&W laser for most of your printing.

CLASSES

• FAX service is available to all at Venture Out.

• The Monitor will help send and receive faxes for you.

• The cost is $1 per page to send or receive.  There is a discount for 6 or more pages.

MISCELLANEOUS

• Computers are restored to their original configuration overnight with “Deep Freeze.”

• All user data is "wiped out" (deleted) daily at 3am

• Bring a flash drive to save your work and pictures.

QUIET

Please help us maintain a quiet environment

• Take ALL phone calls out of the room

• Always use inside voices

• Leave the Sound off on computers (unless using headphones)
