We have a Server 2012 R2 gold image we use with an RDSH instant clone farm. I have recently tried upgrading the agent to 7.13.1 (from 7.13), and after about 3/4 of the way, the install simply stops and rolls back. I've seen behavior like this mentioned in other posts/Google searches, but, so far different solutions I've tried have not worked.

I'm installing it logged in as local admin, which I always do, but I've also tried with my AD credentials signed in that have local admin rights. I've tried disjoining it from our domain in case some GPO is conflicting. I've tried uninstalling tools (11.2.5) and the agent, then re-installing tools and running the agent clean, still fails. I've tried different agent versions even, going back to 7.10.2.

also do a further test if you can ... from a win2012r2 install it clean and see if it goes.

As a last resort (but take a backup of the Golden image) uninstall the 7.13 agent, reboot and install the 7.13.1 agent

and as I was afraid of, we're back to getting it now that we HAVE to go to a newer agent. Trying to upgrade from 7.10.1 to 7.13.1 and I get the same rollback issue. At least now I'm getting a popup error. Maybe someone has seen this. Few Googles I've done mention disabling UAC, but it didn't work for me.

One interesting point. If I modify the agent and add back in Virtual Printing, it seems like the error does happen, yet the services for ThinPrint are there and present. I might just go with TP for now.

Recently released features of WorkSpaces including WorkSpaces Core gives customer more flexibility. Customers can manage Amazon WorkSpaces programmatically while using VMware Horizon protocols like Blast or PCoIP. This includes programmatically adding desktops to Amazon WorkSpaces that have Horizon agents in it. When deployed the agents will add the desktop to the Connection Servers.

When upgrading to Horizon View 8 or higher, as part of the process to upgrade the agent on the physical machine, you may notice this functionality stops working. To resolve this, simply uninstall the agent and then re-install it.

I have setup a physical desktop with a Nvidia 2080 and installed the Horizon agent v7.11. Using a connection server also at 7.11 and connecting with Blast using the latest view client it is still using the VMware Horizon Indirect Display Driver and no 3D acceleration.

Unfortunately if I disable the indirect video card in device manager I just get a black screen when trying to reconnect after the reboot. I then need to reinstall the agent and re-add the machine to the pool to get it working again.

The printer definition in the virtual desktop is with a universal printer driver and therefore independent of the make and model connected to the client. This feature doesn't exclusively work with virtual desktops running Windows 10. It also works with RDS desktops and RDS-hosted applications. As long as the RDS host has the agent installed with the aforementioned agent component, any local printers will appear in the RDS desktop or hosted application.

When VMware Integrated Printing is installed with the agent, it works right away without any configuration from the administrator. It is, however, possible to configure this feature with a group policy. IT admins must load the administrative template named printerRedirection.admx into the policy editor. 006ab0faaa
