Assisting the Forgotten Youth of Kitale
There are many organisations working with street connected children but very few specialise with over 18s.These are our 'Forgotten Youth.'
We provide the young people with livelihood and self-reliance opportunities through life skills, business and other trainings. We also assist the young people to access appropriate housing and help them in practical ways to be self-reliant as they transition from life on the streets.
Short, bi-weekly classes that aim to inform on money management skills and the practicalities of starting a business or entering the work-place.
Kitale is known as 'The Bread-basket of Kenya.' Subsistence farming is a livelihood for many in the area and it can be for our youth. We engage them in basic horticulture practice, with the hope that those interested, will continue private learning with our support.
We offer a safe place for youth to play, exercise and be happy.
A fun and creative environment is crucial for positive mindset teaching.
Youth are offered tea and a meal every day. This encourages attendance and ensures that they can apply themselves fully to the activities we encourage.
All help with funding is greatly appreciated.
