Firstly, open Terminal (usually it is located in Utilities folder).
Then, type following command:
softwareupdate --fetch-full-installer
Then, the installer of your system will start downloading immediately.
After the download your Terminal window will look like this.
*NOTE: The Installer will be located in default Applications folder.
Open new windows in Terminal.
Then type following command:
diskutil list
The list of the disks will appear at the same window like a table.
Choose an app which icon you want to get.
Then, click with the secondary button of mouse and click "Show package contents".
Open the "Contents" folder.
In appeared catalogue, choose "Resources" folder.
All the files with .icns , .png extensions are icons
(Works on Mac and on iPad with connected bluetooth keyboard or Apple Magic Keyboard)
For fast switching between apps, you need to hold such key combination: ⌘+→| (Cmd+Tab).
After you will hold this combination, you will se following:
By clicking Tab button you can select whether to which app do you want to switch.
If you want to go backward in this row, you need to hold Shift as well.
Firstly, to operate with it, you need to add a backup drive (you can do that actually by adding any external drive, whose capacity equals or is more than Storage on your Mac).
If you are plugging this drive for the first time in your Mac, there will be a message with prompt to use it like a backup drive.
If you have already plugged this USB stick to your Mac, to use it, you will need to do following:
1) Run System Preferences
2) Open Time Machine menu
3) If you are running macOS 10.12 - macOS 12, you will need to click Back up automatically, then, you will be prompted to choose the necessary drive. Choose your wished drive and click Use disk.
4) If you are running Mac OS X 10.5 - OS X 10.11, you will need to click on ON text to turn on Time Machine. Then you will be prompted to choose the drive to place backups in. Click Use disk.
You are ready to go!
Firstly, locate the file/folder/disk you want to change icon to.
Next, locate the image you want to put there.
Open it in Preview.app.
Select the image by using the selection tool.
Click cmd+C
Choose the file/folder/disk you want to change icon to.
Click cmd+I
Select it's icon on left top corner (not on title bar).
Click cmd+V.
You are ready to go!
