Beryl Jantzi will lead a three-week series from September 1 to September 15, titled “How God Moves: Lessons on Transitions.”

Beryl Jantzi retired from full-time work as the Everence Director of Stewardship Education on May 29, 2026. As part of this next chapter, he is serving as a part-time interim pastor at Springdale Mennonite in Waynesboro, VA, as well as a part-time chaplain at Cold Springs Correctional Center near Greenville, VA, through Grace Inside Ministries. Beryl and Margo have been married for 39 years and have two adult daughters, Melissa Jantzi and Rose Luna (Ben), and two grandchildren, Violeta and Nicolas. 

Charles Kwuelum will lead a three-week series from September 22 to October 6, titled “Relating to Government."

Charles Obiorah Kwuelum serves as Senior Peace Education and Advocacy Associate, International for National Peace and Justice Ministries of Mennonite Central Committee U.S. He leads workshops, writes, analyzes, preaches, teaches and speaks on MCC’s global peacebuilding programs, U.S. policy toward Africa, and U.S. foreign assistance and food justice. He meets regularly with congressional offices and Administration officials to convey MCC’s perspective on public policy. Before joining MCC in January 2015, Charles was a Fellow at Search for Common Ground DC and a Graduate Intern coalition builder at the Africa Faith & Justice Network, also in Washington, DC. He holds a Master’s in International Affairs & Diplomacy (ABU Zaria, Nigeria) and a Master’s in Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding from Eastern Mennonite University’s Center for Justice & Peacebuilding in Harrisonburg, VA. He also holds a Bachelor’s in Philosophy and Theology from Pontifical Urbaniana University in Rome, Italy. Charles currently lives in Harrisonburg, Va. with his wife and two children.

Kevin Goertzen will lead a two-week series from October 13 to October 20, titled “Authority and Burnout: Lessons from Elijah.”

Kevin Goertzen is the conference minister for Virginia Mennonite Conference, having previously pastored churches in Turpin, OK, Goessel, KS, and Waynesboro, VA.  He has also served as a member of the MC USA Executive Board and worked as a church relations associate for Mennonite Mission Network. Kevin is married to Denise, and together they have two adult children (both married) and three grandchildren. In addition to the joy he finds in his family relationships, Kevin also enjoys sports (playing volleyball and supporting the Seahawks), backpacking, and any opportunity to spend time out in the woods

Harvey Yoder will lead a two-week series from October 27 to November 3, titled “A Biblical Perspective on Christian Citizenship.”

Harvey is a semi-retired counselor and pastor, most recently of Family of Hope House Church. Born in Oklahoma, he moved with his family to Augusta County from Kansas when he was six. He is married to Alma Jean (Wert) and, for over 20 years, served as pastor of the Zion Mennonite Church near Broadway while continuing to teach part-time at Eastern Mennonite High School. He then served as a counselor at Family Life Resource Center for 35 years. He has degrees from EMU, JMU, and EMS.

Steve Landis will lead a two-week series from November 10 to November 17, titled “Fixing Our Eyes on the Eternal.”

Steve grew up near Lancaster, PA, and graduated from EMU and EMS.  He began pastoral ministry at Mt. Jackson Mennonite Church in 1979.  Later, he served in the Franconia Mennonite Conference in eastern PA for 29 years, where he served as an Overseer and also Pastor of Finland and Franconia Mennonite congregations. For over 10 years, Steve served as Independent Living Chaplain at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community.  Steve & Rosemary are members of Harrisonburg Mennonite Church.  They are grateful to live close to their 3 married children and 8 grandchildren.  Steve enjoys music, gardening, family history, and time with his family.
