VKGTecho ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and handling of your data when you use the VKGTecho photo and video gallery application. To comply with Google Play Developer Policies, this document explicitly outlines the device permissions our app requests, why they are necessary, and how they relate to the handling of your sensitive user data.
Because VKGTecho is a gallery app, it relies on device storage to function. We prioritize your privacy by keeping media processing local to your device.
To provide the core functionality of a comprehensive photo and video gallery, VKGTecho requires specific Android permissions. We only request access that is strictly necessary for the app to operate.
Our app performs complex local processing to organize your gallery efficiently.
FOREGROUND_SERVICE & FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC: The app uses a foreground service to continue long-running face/media processing reliably while the app is backgrounded or not in the foreground. This work is implemented as a dataSync foreground service because it scans device media, processes face-group data, updates the local gallery database, and keeps the user informed through an ongoing notification. Therefore the app declares FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC.
As a gallery manager, accessing, displaying, and organizing your files is the core purpose of VKGTecho.
MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (All Files Access): This permission is critical for the app's core functionality. As a comprehensive file and gallery manager, this permission allows you to view, move, copy, delete, and organize photos and videos across all shared storage directories on your device. Without this permission, the app cannot effectively manage files outside of its own isolated storage space. We strictly limit the use of this permission to file management and do not access your files for any undisclosed or invalid purposes.
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Max SDK 32) & WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Max SDK 28): Required on older Android versions to read media files from your device and save changes (such as editing or moving files) back to your local storage.
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES & READ_MEDIA_VIDEO: Required on Android 13 and above to securely access the photos and videos stored on your device.
READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED: Required on Android 14 and above to allow you to grant the app access only to specific photos or videos of your choosing, rather than your entire media library.
POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required to display persistent notifications to you. This is primarily used in conjunction with our foreground service to keep you actively informed about the status of ongoing media scanning and face-group processing.
VIBRATE: Used to provide haptic feedback (small device vibrations) for better user experience during in-app interactions, such as long-pressing to select multiple photos.
Local Processing: The scanning of device media and the processing of face-group data are performed entirely locally on your device. VKGTecho builds and updates a local database to organize your gallery.
No Cloud Uploads: We do not automatically upload, transmit, or store your photos, videos, or facial recognition data on external servers.
Third-Party Sharing: We do not sell, rent, or share your personal media files or internally processed data with third parties, data brokers, or advertising networks.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app's features or to comply with updated Google Play store policies. Any changes will be posted within the app and the updated effective date will be reflected at the top of this policy.
