About Me

I started out my art career as a Textile Designer, after graduating from the Fashion Institute of Technology, designing for the textile print industry in NYC, creating original designs that were sold to manufacturers. I since exhibited my many award-winning silk arts in gallery’s and shows on Long Island as well as Santa Fe, New Mexico and Maryland, including the Dennis and Philip Ratner Museum, University of Maryland and the Sandy Springs Museum in Maryland and the Long Island Museum in Stonybrook.  My award-winning silk paintings have been in the New York Times and in the book “The Best of Silk Painting “by Tuckman and Janas and their new book published 2018 “The Fine Art of Painting on Silk “and on the cover of Barbara Kellum Scott’s Book “Perseverance of the Saints ”I also taught silk painting at the Art League of Long Island. I always wanted to try oil painting. My desire grew and I learned by watching other oil painters paint in demonstrations. Since I love the outdoors, this is a perfect medium for me. I have even won a few awards in shows.  My paintings and silk scarves are sold on ETSY in my shop Vivien Pollack Design
