Hi Everyone!
I’m Dr. Vivek Gupta, currently working as the Business Growth Manager – Prototype at WOL3D, India’s leading consumer 3D printing company. In this role, I lead strategic and technical initiatives around rapid prototyping, 3D printing applications, and product innovation.
Previously, I worked as a Senior Mechatronics Engineer at Next Big Innovation Labs® (NBIL), where I was actively involved in the design and development of biomedical devices. My work spanned across product design, system architecture, technical leadership, prototyping, testing, quality assurance, and project management — contributing to both manufacturing and R&D efforts.
🎓 My academic journey includes a Ph.D. from IIT Delhi, where I conducted research at the Diseases and Injuries Mechanics Lab (DIML) under the mentorship of Prof. Arnab Chanda. Prior to that, I worked as a Junior Research Fellow at IIT Patna.
🧠 My core expertise lies in 3D Printing, Product Design and Development, especially for Healthcare and biomedical applications. Key highlights of my work include:
Designing and fabricating an ultra-low-cost (< ₹30K) Biaxial Testing Device for soft tissue/scaffold characterization.
Developing and optimizing auxetic patterns for biomedical use, particularly as auxetic skin grafts for treating extensive burn injuries.

May 2025, I had the opportunity to visit the inauguration of India's first PLA (Polylactic Acid) manufacturing facility, supported by the Government of India (BioYoug).
