 Biosketch

Vivekanandhan is currently working as a Project Scientist in the Centre of Automotive Energy Materials, International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and Advanced Materials (An Autonomous Research Centre under Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India)         

Vivek was graduated with B.E (Mechanical Engineering) from Anna University Chennai in April 2008. Subsequently, he had been completed the Master of Engineering (M.E) specialized in Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) from the Department of Manufacturing Engineering from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University Chennai in April 2010. During his M.E course, he was awarded with the National Post Graduate Merit Scholarship for the two academic years (2008-2010) from University Grants Commission (UGC), Govt. of India. 

   Vivek has completed his Ph.D  in domain of thermoelectric materials under the supervision of Prof. S.KUMARAN from his Green Energy Materials and Manufacturing Research (GEMM) Group, Department of Metallurgical and Material Engineering of National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu, India. During his Ph.D course, he was received MHRD Junior Research Fellowship (May 2014 May 2015) and National Doctoral Fellowship (June 2015 - June 2019) from MHRD, Govt. of India (2015-2019).  

     Vivek is having authored a chapter on "Decentralized Supply Chain Management System" for the book titled "Supply Chain Management for Competitive Advantage" published by Mcmillan India. (Outcome of M.E degree thesis research work)

He also published his research contributions in the reputed and scholarly International Journals of high impact factor such as Advanced Powder Technology, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, Materials Chemistry and Physics, Materials Letters, Materials Research Bulletin, Powder Technology, Scripta Materialia, Vacuum etc.,. And, having presented his work in 26 International Conferences and 14 National Conferences. 

 

PROFESSIONAL TRAITS AND EXPERTISE 

Having strong expertise design and development of alloy/composite through advanced processing approaches (such as Mechanical Alloying, Combustion Synthesis Powder processing, Liquid metallurgy and Liquid phase sintering processing) for functional applications including Magnetic Materials, Battery Materials, Thermoelectric Materials, Automobile components through advanced processing routes.

Good knowledge in product development through casting, powder processing and advanced sintering techniques adopting efficient and greener principles. 

Expertise in material testing, failure investigation and advanced characterization techniques (Atom Probe Tomography (APT), TEM, SEM, XRD, XPS, DSC, TGA etc., pertaining to material system and process engineering.

Proven Proficiency in preparation such as scientific/technical document preparation (New proposals, scientific articles and documentation).

During Ph.D  at NIT Trichy - Drafted R&D proposals towards the successful attainment of four funded projects for the net tune of 1 Crore Indian Rupees and played a lead role in thermoelectric facility and powder processing facility establishment. 

Scholar Head for the powder metallurgical laboratory with Powder synthesis, testing and characterization, Sintering Facility, Thermal analysis facility etc.,

Having management experience in establishing the lab facilities and maintenance (prevention and break up) of scientific equipment.  

Coordinated consultancy activities in the Powder processing and materials design laboratory between 2015-2020

Knowledge and experience in coordinating the international and national multinational companies towards the import of material/instruments, drafting technical specification preparation, installment, financial administration, and customs documentation activities.
