Founder: Stefi Talman

Stefi Talman, born Stefanie Thalman on January 3, 1958, in Zurich, Switzerland, is a highly regarded shoe designer known for her innovative approach to footwear. She has a strong background in both artistic and technical disciplines, having studied at the Zurich University of the Arts and completed a shoemaking apprenticeship. She further refined her craft with advanced training at the Ars Sutoria Institute in Milan.

Talman founded her first atelier in Zurich in 1979, where she quickly made a name for herself with her original designs. Her 1980 collection, featuring the iconic ZIP half-boot with a unique angled zipper, became an international hit and influenced fashion trends worldwide. Though her original label closed in 1986, Talman continued to shape the fashion industry through collaborations with prominent brands and successfully relaunched her label in 1994.

Her role in the development of VivaCrocs has been pivotal, combining functionality with aesthetic appeal and high-quality craftsmanship.

In 1975, Talman began her studies at the Zurich University of the Arts (HGKZ). After a year, she pursued a three-year shoemaking apprenticeship, and later, she enhanced her skills with advanced training in cut technique at the Ars Sutoria Institute in Milan.

Talman’s designs are known for their playful yet sophisticated use of colors and materials, blending elegance with practicality. Her collections have inspired generations, offering stylish options for everyday wear, travel, and special occasions. Her commitment to sustainability ensures that her work is both fashion-forward and environmentally responsible.

In 2024, Stefi Talman launched VivaCrocs.com, a Business-to-Customer online marketplace that offers a curated selection of unique Crocs products directly to consumers.
