Studio Albums
Shattered Existence (1989): The debut album by Xentrix, released by Roadrunner Records. It featured the original lineup of Chris Astley (vocals, guitar), Kristian Havard (guitar), Paul MacKenzie (bass), and Dennis Gasser (drums). The album received positive reviews from critics and fans, and showcased the band's influences from Metallica, Slayer, and Exodus. The album also included a cover of the Ray Parker Jr. song "Ghostbusters", which became a hit single and a staple of their live shows.
For Whose Advantage? (1990): The second album by Xentrix, also released by Roadrunner Records. It continued the style of the first album, but with more complex and progressive song structures. The album featured the same lineup as the debut, except for Astley, who left the band shortly before the recording and was replaced by Simon Gordon on vocals. The album was well received by critics and fans, and is considered by some to be their best work. The title track was also released as a single and a music video.
Kin (1992): The third album by Xentrix, again released by Roadrunner Records. It marked a departure from the thrash metal sound of the previous albums, and incorporated more alternative and groove metal elements. The album also featured more melodic vocals from Gordon, and more experimental and atmospheric songs. The album received mixed reviews from critics and fans, who were divided over the change of direction. The album also included a cover of the Pink Floyd song "Another Brick in the Wall", which was released as a single.
Scourge (1996): The fourth and final album by Xentrix, released by Heavy Metal Records. It was recorded after a four-year hiatus, during which the band underwent several lineup changes. Astley returned to the band on vocals and guitar, replacing Gordon, who left in 1994. MacKenzie also left the band in 1995, and was replaced by Andy Rudd on bass. The album returned to the thrash metal style of the first two albums, but with a more modern and polished production. The album received positive reviews from critics and fans, who welcomed the comeback of the band.
