Xiaoxiao Liu is a Ph.D. candidate in Computer Science at Bournemouth University in the United Kingdom. She received a Master degree in Translation and Interpreting at Tianjin University of Technology, China. In 2018, She completed her Masters degree in Computer Science at Swansea University, UK, with a focus on the visualization of parallel texts.
Mohammad Alharbi received his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Qassim University in 2005. He was awarded a Masters in Computer Science from Swansea University specialising in information visualization in 2011. Mohammed completed his PhD on the interactive visualization of parallel texts at Swansea University in 2021. He is currently a Lecturer at Buraidah College of Technology in Saudi.
Jian Chen received the PhD degree in Computer Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). She did her post-doctoral work in Computer Science and BioMed at Brown University. She is an Associate Professor in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at Ohio State University where she directs the Interactive Visual Computing Laboratory. Her research interests include design and evaluation of visualization techniques, 3D interface, and visual analytics. She is a member of the IEEE and the IEEE Computer Society.
Alexandra Diehl is a a postdoctoral researcher with the Department of Informatics at University of Zurich. She received the PhD degree in computer science from the University of Buenos Aires, in 2016. Her main research interests include the area of visualization discipline, visual analytics, geospatial visual analytics, predictive analytics, and data science. During the last years, She has been working on visual analytics for meteorology, visual analytics of Volunteer Geographic Information (VGI), citizen science, and social media, and on the theoretical foundations of visualization guidelines.
Dylan Rees received a bachelors degree in DIS Automotive Engineering, from the Loughborough University. He received a masters degree in computer science, from Swansea University. He was awarded a PhD in Information Visualization from Swansea University in 2020, focusing on visualising the agent experience within the call center landscape. He is now a software developer at Zuken.com.
Elif E Firat is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Nottingham. Her research interests are to identify barriers to visualization literacy to improve non-expert users’ visualization literacy skills by aiding both teaching and learning with pedagogical software. She received her Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering at Inonu University, Turkey, and a Masters degree in Advanced Computer Science at Swansea University in 2017.
Qiru Wang is a full-time research associate in data visualization at the University of Nottingham. His research interests lie in information visualization and visual analytics. He is currently working on the visualization of electronic health records (EHR Vis). He received his master degree in Advanced Computer Science at Swansea University in 2017.
Robert S Laramee received a bachelors degree in physics, cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a masters degree in computer science from the University of New Hampshire, Durham. He was awarded a PhD from the Vienna University of Technology in 2005. He was a researcher at the VRVis Research Center (www.vrvis.at) and a software engineer at AVL (www.avl.com) in the department of Advanced Simulation Technologies. He was a Lecturer, then Associate Professor at Swansea University. Currently he is an Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham, UK in the School of Computer Science. His research interests are in the areas of scientific visualization, information visualization, and visual analytics.
