Visit Babylon 5

Babylon 5 was our last best hope for peace; a port of call, a home away from home for diplomats, hustlers, entrepreneurs and wanderers; two million five hundred thousand tons of spinning metal, all alone in the night...

Approaching Babylon 5

Hello, this is your steward speaking. Starliner Asimov will be docking at Earth Alliance Station Babylon 5 in a few minutes. Will all passengers wishing to disembark please report to the shuttlebay for transfer to the station. When you enter the station, you will have to pass through customs and give your identicard to the security officers.

On Final Approach

Having found your way to the Asimov's shuttlebay, you have boarded an Earth Alliance Transfer Shuttle. This will take you from the Starliner, which is too large to dock inside Babylon 5, to the main docking bay.

Through the viewport, you can see the Earth Alliance Station Babylon 5. As you approach Babylon 5, you realise just how big the station is...

Transfer Shuttle

Hello, this is your steward speaking. We are now transferring to Babylon 5. Over the next few minutes, passengers may find the zero g conditions uncomfortable. Unlike the Starliner Asimov, whose main section rotates to provide simulated gravity, Transfer Shuttles offer no such luxury. We recommend that passengers stay buckled in their seat harnesses, since the pilot will be making many small course corrections to enter Babylon 5's main docking bay. We will have to match our rotation to that of the station, before entering the main docking bay.

Docking Bay

The shuttle pilot has aligned the Transfer Shuttle with the main axis of Babylon 5 and fired lateral thrusters to match the rotation of the docking bay.   Through the viewport, you can see the various landing platforms,  which take shuttles and smaller ships down to the main parking bays.   Larger ships continue through a series of inner doors to one of the  larger parking bays.  Just ahead, you can just see a Narn freighter waiting to exit the station.

Disembarkation

Hello, this is your steward speaking.  We now have confirmation from Babylon Control that we will be landing on pad 1 in the main docking bay. This procedure will take about a minute, as the shuttle is taken by elevator down to the parking area, where you will once again experience about two-thirds normal Earth gravity.  You will soon be able to disembark.

Once you have left the shuttle, please proceed directly to Babylon 5 Customs and follow signs for the Arrivals Lounge.
