Song Vibes

Songwriting Production

SPECIAL COVID-19 NOTICE

The Song Vibes program is available virtually, but please note that there will be some modifications. For instance, students will not have the opportunity to work with loop pedals or microphones, and the optional song showcase would culminate with a virtual choir rather than an in-school assembly.

Program Overview

This program is so much more than writing a song. Students will unpack the elements of music, find their unique voice, and understand what goes into producing a No. 1 hit. To do this, we utilize multiple mediums for student learning and exploration, including the creation of melody and lyrics, exploring loop pedals, microphones, and more. The end result is a fully composed song that is created by each class/group. At the end of the program, students will also have a chance to showcase their song in an epic performance assembly (optional)!

Want more? Take it a step further by capturing your song forever. Let us bring the studio right to you and take your students through the full recording process.

This program can be catered to any grade level. Older students (Gr. 4+) will have the opportunity to work hands on with recording equipment, loop pedals, and learn the basics of mixing sounds using an online program.

Program Options

The length of the Song Production Program is very flexible. Ranging from one hour intensives, afternoon workshops, or longer residencies that allow for in-depth song production and recording. We offer three different levels of this program so that we can best suit your needs and interests.

Level 1: Simple Vibes

This is the simplest and most concise form of the Song Vibes program, and can be delivered in workshops ranging from 1 - 2 hours. Students will learn the basics of songwriting and some elements of production. Elements include writing lyrics, creating a melody, and utilizing the elements of music to create their own compositions. If requested and if time allows, we can also provide a demonstration of microphone technique and loop pedals.

Level 2: More Vibes

This variation is more extensive and requires a minimum of 2 - 3 sessions. It incorporates all elements of Simple Vibes, but allows for greater depth and exploration. Older students (Gr. 4+) will be given time to explore the equipment, and may even use it in their final composition.

Level 3: All The Vibes

This is the full package and is a great option for your next school residency! Students will get the full experience of creating and producing, utilizing multiple platforms for engagement, inspiration and creativity. Students will learn how to use a microphone, manipulate their voice with effects, explore loop pedals, and be introduced to electronic sound mixing. This program culminates in an epic final showcase assembly, where students can perform their song and share their new skills (NOTE: Due to the restrictions of COVID-19, the final assembly is not currently available).

EXTRA VIBES: Want more? Take it a step further by capturing your song forever. Let us bring the studio right to you and take your students through the full recording process. The recording process can take anywhere from 1 - 5 hours depending on instrumentation. Get in touch with us for more information!
