Does anyone know where you can obtain some good visio stencils for cisco equipment like routers, switches, gateways, cables, ports, etc. The default ones in Visio leave much to be desired. Any input appreciated - thanks.

I need to make a physical network diagram in Visio and am having a hard time finding the stencils for a cisco ASA5525.(I already check the Cisco site and the ASA55xx are not included in the list of stencils. I have come across other forms that have discussed this topic and it seem like Cisco my have never released the the stencils for this device.

I'm familiar with all the standard Cisco shapes to depict various types of switches and routers. I've also come up with a pretty good shape to show encryption devices. I'm having a hard time trying to come up with something that would show a media converter (Ethernet to fiber and vice versa) on my network drawings using Visio. Do anyone know of a standard shape that's used?

Although there are several ways to build network diagrams, Cisco and Amazon Web Services (AWS) are the most popular. Lucidchart offers extensive shape libraries packed with symbols to model your networks. In addition to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and Cisco shapes, Lucidchart provides a shape library for the more generic network diagram symbols and icons.

Bridge symbols connect two Ethernet networks into one larger, extended Ethernet network. Bridge symbols are especially important when diagramming networks that are separated by geography. Since bridge shapes predate switch shapes, they are hardly seen unless they refer to wireless bridges.

Databases are useful for organizing extensive collections of data, and can be symbolized in AWS and Cisco standard networks with the following shapes. Assess your network and determine which database will be the most useful. Database shapes can be chosen depending on your needs, including operational, specific, external, or hypermedia database shapes. You can also choose your database shape depending on other factors, such as the kind of machine that supports the database (e.g., server cluster) or the query languages used to access it (e.g., SQL).

This is a minor niggle of mine, but when looking for a cisco layer 3 switch visio stencil the collection of stencils and images over at www.cisco.com/web/about/ac50/ac47/2.html does not include a Layer 3 switch. e24fc04721
