About
I am an Assistant Professor of Statistics in the Department of Statistics, Operations, and Data Science, at the Fox Business School, Temple University, Philadelphia. Prior to joining Temple, I spend one year at The Ohio State University as an Assistant Professor of Statistics. I obtained my PhD under the supervision of Aleksandra Slavkovic at the Penn State University. After my PhD, I spend three years jointly at Harvard and Carnegie Mellon University as a Post Doctoral fellow advised by Steve Fienberg at CMU, and Edo Airoldi and Salil Vadhan at Harvard. I have a Masters in Transportation Engineering from Penn State University, and I did my undergraduate in Civil Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, India.
My research interests are in the broad areas of statistics, machine learning and data science. Currently, I am working on:
Statistical inference under the constraints of data privacy, including differential privacy
Causal inference in network settings
Analysis of network data using exponential random graph models and their mixtures
Algebraic statistics
Network privacy
Computational methods for intractable likelihoods and massive datasets
Application of NLP using transformer models to semantic search and recommendation systems
