I am currently serving as a Scientist - D at the Centre for Cryosphere and Climate Change Studies (C4S), National Institute of Hydrology (NIH), Roorkee, Uttarakhand, India. NIH is a research body under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation. I have over 16 years of R&D experience in Himalayan cryosphere and glaciology, snow-glacier melt runoff modelling, rainfall-runoff and hydraulic modelling, climate-change impact assessment and downscaling, flood modelling, machine learning methods, and remote sensing & GIS applications for water-resources analysis and management. I am also engaged in a range of technical and administrative responsibilities at the Institute.

I completed my Ph.D. (Civil Engineering - Water Resources Engineering & Management) at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, Assam, and my M.Tech. (Remote Sensing & GIS in Water Resources) at the Allahabad Agricultural Institute, Allahabad, UP. After my Ph.D., I served as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and as a Visiting Scholar/Research Associate at North Dakota State University (NDSU), Fargo, USA, under an NSF EPSCoR-funded appointment. I have also worked as a Research Scientist at the Regional Remote Sensing Centre-West, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and in catastrophe-risk modelling at RMS/RMSI. I have authored more than 55 peer-reviewed international and national publications (2010-2026) and am a member of several national and international professional societies, including the Indian Society of Remote Sensing (ISRS), the Indian Association of Hydrologists (IAH), and the American Geophysical Union (AGU). I currently lead six ongoing Principal-Investigator projects on glacier monitoring, climate-change impacts, and water-resources decision support, and remain actively engaged in the Institute's capacity-building and training programmes.
