Notification of staying in the Kingdom over 90 days
WHAT IS 90 DAYS NOTIFICATION ?
If you have been granted for Non-Immigrant visa to stay in the country up to 12-month extensions, you are subjected to notify your local Immigration office of your place of residence by using form TM47. Reporting may be done 15 days prior or 7 days after the due date to be considered on time. Tourists are not required to do this as they won’t be staying in the country for over 90 days at a time.
PENALTY
If you stay in the kingdom for over 90 days without notifying the Immigration Bureau or if you notify later than 7 days after the due date, you shall be fined 2,000 Baht.
If you fail to make the notification of staying over 90 days and are arrested, you will be fined 5,000 Baht.
HOW TO DO ?
There are many ways for the foreigner to do the 90 days report such as:1. The foreigner makes the notification in person, or2. The foreigner authorizes another person to make the notification, or3. The foreigner makes the notification by registered mail, or4. The foreigner makes the notification via internet**Online notification has been trialed but the system rarely works.
