Explaining the effects of distractor statistics in visual search

The paper is available open access on the Journal of Vision website:

Below you can find a talk on the project, information about the code and data from the project, and you can explore the stimulus used in the study in more detail.

Talk

In this Ma Lab research talk, Andra Mihali and I present our work on visual search. My project was inspired by, and followed on from Andra's work. We had an interesting discussion following the presentation.

Code and data

Data used in the study can be found on the Open Science Framework.

Code for the study is written in MATLAB and is in three different GitHub repositories. First, the code use for presenting the stimuli is here. Second, code used for analysis is here. Finally, for this and other projects I wrote general purpose cognitive modelling functions which are here.

The links are to the versions of the code as it was used for the study. However, improvements have been made to the code since publication. These changes are reflected in the most up-to-date versions of these GitHub repositories.
