SSLG’s INVOLVEMENT IN EXTERNAL ENGAGEMENTS

𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗨𝗣𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧, 𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗡, 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗟 𝗛𝗘𝗔𝗟𝗧𝗛

SSLG "Virtus" stepped forward to take part in the Training Course for Peer Facilitators held on March 11 to 13, 2026 at Carlosta Hotel. Representing the school are Cleo Jane Juba, SSLG Vice President, and Russel Ablen, a Grade 12 Representative, together with Mrs. Mia Liza Lapeciros-Marmita.

‎This training, led by the City Health Department Mental Health Program, brings together young leaders across Ormoc City to strengthen mental health awareness and peer support in schools. The goal is simple but powerful. Equip students with the knowledge and skills to listen, guide, and support fellow learners who may be going through difficult times.

‎Let’s start with simple actions that create real change. Proper waste segregation, turning old items into something useful, reducing waste, and saving energy—these may seem small, but they matter.

‎Did you know? Small steps, when done together, can make a big difference for our Earth.

‎

‎In school, we can begin by turning off unused lights and appliances.

‎In malls and other places, we can stay mindful of how we use energy and manage our waste.

‎

‎Like a ripple in water, one small act can reach farther than we expect.

‎

‎Give an hour for the Earth. Be part of the change. Be an eco-warrior.

SSLG BRINGS HOME THE WIN AND MAKES A STAND FOR THE EARTH!

‎Ipil National High School proudly emerges as the Grand Winner - Best Eco Reel during the Earth Hour 2026 Eco Reels Competition at SM Center Ormoc, rising above nine competing schools.

‎

‎Beyond the recognition, the team also took part in the 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀: 𝗘𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀, where they gained meaningful insights on energy conservation and simple ways to protect our planet—reminding us that real change begins with awareness.

‎This victory is not just about bringing home an award. It is a reflection of what we stand for: a community that chooses to care, act, and lead.

‎Because in a world that often forgets, we choose to remember—

‎that the Earth is not just where we live, but what we must protect.

SSLG STOOD FOR THE EARTH THIS EARTH HOUR 2026

‎For one hour, the lights went out—but the message remained.

‎

‎Earth Hour was more than a moment of darkness. It was a clear reminder that change begins with simple choices. The Ipil National High School Learner Government stood united, showing that even small actions, when done together, can speak loudly for the Earth.

‎

‎We continue to uphold the DepEd core value—Makakalikasan—not only during Earth Hour, but in the days that follow. Because caring for the environment is not limited to one event—it is a responsibility we carry every day.

‎

‎Earth Hour may have passed, but our commitment stays.

‎And as one school, we will keep choosing to stand, act, and protect.

MANGUNA 2026

Indeed, Region 8 is Great!

The Supreme Secondary Learner Government of Ipil National High School proudly participated in the 2-day MANGUNA 2026 webinar organized by RFSSLG of Region 8, bringing together student leaders from 13 divisions across the region.

For two meaningful days, we engaged in discussions, gained new knowledge, and strengthened our understanding of leadership and service. The experience helped us grow not only as officers, but as learners committed to serving with purpose and responsibility.

A step forward for better leadership. A stronger SSLG for the learners.

DFSSLG ELECTIONS S.Y 2026-2027

‎A meaningful milestone for Ipil NHS.

‎

‎During the 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗗𝗢 𝗢𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗰 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆, the Presidents of Ipil NHS’ three organizations—SSLG, YES-O, and BKD—were elected to executive positions at the division level.

‎

‎With the formal opening of the YES-O and BKD Division Councils, the first set of officers now serves the whole Ormoc City Division. This marks an important step in strengthening student representation and collaboration among schools.

‎

‎The election was attended by SSLG Presidents from 27 public secondary schools, district presidents of BKD and YES-O, and the SSLG President from the private schools in Ormoc City.

SSLG’s INVOLVEMENT IN INTERNAL ENGAGEMENTS

ANTI-CYBER CRIME TALKS AND PREVENTION

‎Together with the SSLG, students actively joined the conversation, raised questions, and participated in activities that deepened their understanding. It was not just a talk, but a shared effort to become more responsible and alert in the digital space.

‎

‎As part of the Women’s Month celebration, this activity also highlights the importance of protecting everyone—especially women—from online risks, reminding us that safety should exist both offline and online.

‎

‎Awareness is not enough unless it leads to action. What we do after learning matters most.

‎

FIRST SSLG REGULAR SESSION

‎The Supreme Secondary Learner Government of Ipil National High School successfully conducted its first regular session in preparation for the upcoming school year, with the participation of selected scouts. The meeting was attended by 16 SSLG officers, with two officers formally excused.

‎

‎Key matters discussed included initial preparations for NSPC 2026, essential SSLG initiatives, and planning for the opening of classes for S.Y. 2026–2027. The session served as a platform to align priorities and ensure a coordinated approach to upcoming responsibilities.

SSLG and Scouts Join Forces for NSPC 2026 Preparation

‎The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), together with the Scouts, actively participated in the school’s preparation for the upcoming NSPC 2026. Student volunteers worked hand in hand in organizing materials, cleaning designated areas, arranging facilities, and assisting in various tasks to help ensure that the school is well-prepared for the event. Their cooperation and dedication reflected the spirit of teamwork and service within the school community.

Through this initiative, both the SSLG and Scouts demonstrated leadership, responsibility, and unity in supporting school activities and programs. Their collective efforts not only contributed to the successful preparation for NSPC 2026 but also strengthened camaraderie among students while promoting volunteerism and active participation in school affairs.

SSLG and Scouts Welcome NSPC 2026 Delegates Through Culture and Service

‎The Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG), together with the Scouts, warmly welcomed the delegates of NSPC 2026 through a cultural performance during the Welcome Night program. The presentation showcased local culture, talent, and school spirit, creating a lively and meaningful atmosphere for the visiting participants and guests. The performance reflected the students’ creativity, unity, and pride in representing the school and community.

Behind the successful program was the dedicated work of the SSLG Technical Working Group, who assisted in organizing, coordinating, and managing preparations for the event. Alongside the Scouts, the team helped ensure that the Welcome Night program ran smoothly and orderly. Their combined efforts highlighted the importance of teamwork, leadership, and volunteerism in making school events successful and memorable.
