About Us

We began as an in-person Freedom School class sponsored by the W. Marvin Dulaney Branch of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History in Dallas, Texas. When our instructor relocated to another city, we decided to continue to meet virtually. We are a group of sons, daughters, parents, educators, activists, and students who find meaning in the critical appraisal of African American history and culture.
