Where to Get APPs
Apps may be searched by name or category on the following app store websites. Many apps are free and do not contain ads. Others may contain ads or have a one-time purchase price or an ongoing subscription price.

Your device's manufacturer may also provide an app store.
Note: Apps obtained through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store are likely to have been tested for viruses and malware by those companies and are generally a better source than many of the app sites themselves. Google Play Protect, for example, states the following:
"All Android apps undergo rigorous security testing before appearing in the Google Play Store. We vet every app and developer in Google Play, and suspend those who violate our policies. Then, Play Protect scans billions of apps daily to make sure everything remains spot on. That way, no matter where you download an app from, you know it’s been checked by Google Play Protect."
source: Google.comAlthough apps from those stores are tested by Google and Apple, cases have been reported in which some Apps were later found to be infected with malware.
Browser extensions may provide similar functions as apps. The browser may run on various operating systems, including iOS, Android, Windows and Linux. Extensions can be accessed from the browser's menu.
The Rochester HLAA Chapter does not certify or recommend apps. Those listed on this website are included only due to having been found through some members' personal testing to provide some hearing assistive value. Omission of an app from this website does not indicate disapproval.
