Virtual Professional Development Series

The Leadership Alliance’s 2020 Virtual Professional Development Series is intended to:

  • Improve participant’s understanding of the overall research process, including but not limited to discipline-specific research methods and ethical aspects of the research process.

  • Promote improved identification as a researcher, increased confidence in applying to graduate school and provide a better understanding of the graduate school application process and the graduate school experience.

  • Improve participants’ confidence in their networking skills and expand participants’ networks at multiple career levels.

  • Improved understanding of available careers, an increased faculty network and increased researcher identity.

Program Format

The Leadership Alliance Virtual Professional Development program will

  • Integrate workshops, presentations, recruitment events, virtual meeting places and chat rooms, and will culminate in the opportunity to experience the Leadership Alliance’s first ever Virtual Leadership Alliance National Symposium - VLANS.

  • Program activities will be synchronous and asynchronous, with all program components housed in a Google classroom that will be accessible by all program participants and contain all program materials as they are released.

  • Participants will be invited to all events and able to participate as their schedule allows.
