Virtual Professional Development Series
The Leadership Alliance’s 2020 Virtual Professional Development Series is intended to:
Improve participant’s understanding of the overall research process, including but not limited to discipline-specific research methods and ethical aspects of the research process.
Promote improved identification as a researcher, increased confidence in applying to graduate school and provide a better understanding of the graduate school application process and the graduate school experience.
Improve participants’ confidence in their networking skills and expand participants’ networks at multiple career levels.
Improved understanding of available careers, an increased faculty network and increased researcher identity.
Program Format
The Leadership Alliance Virtual Professional Development program will
Integrate workshops, presentations, recruitment events, virtual meeting places and chat rooms, and will culminate in the opportunity to experience the Leadership Alliance’s first ever Virtual Leadership Alliance National Symposium - VLANS.
Program activities will be synchronous and asynchronous, with all program components housed in a Google classroom that will be accessible by all program participants and contain all program materials as they are released.
Participants will be invited to all events and able to participate as their schedule allows.
