Bio

I am Ben Johnson and I was born and raised in Scottsboro, Alabama. I have lived in other places for a couple different periods of time but I found my way back home in 2012. I graduated from Scottsboro High School in 2004 where I was involved with the student council as a senior class representative. I also played football and baseball during my time at Scottsboro High School.

I then moved on to the University of North Alabama for my freshman year of college. It was a wonderful experience and I met a lot of friends that I still keep in touch with today. After my freshman year of college I decided I would like a different challenge and so I transferred to Auburn University for the next 4 years. At Auburn, I earned my bachelor's degree in Exercise Science in 2008 and turned right around and completed a master's degree in Exercise Science - Biomechanics in 2009.

I began life as an adult after this point and worked multiple different jobs in different places until I decided to try my hand in education as a teacher/coach in 2012. I enrolled at Jacksonville State University as a graduate student and entered the Alternative 5th Year Program in Physical Education. I completed this program in the Spring of 2014 and quickly accepted a job with Scottsboro City Schools in August of 2014 where I have remained to this point in my career. I have had the pleasure of teaching physical education, health, driver's education, career preparedness and have spent time as the Title 1 reading and math coach all along the way.

I am currently teaching Career Preparedness, Health, & Driver & Traffic Safety at the High School. I coach junior high football and varsity softball along side my wife Coach Robyn Johnson who also teaches Health and Dance at Scottsboro High School. I truly enjoy getting to come to work each day and hope that we will share a fun, exciting, and blessed semester together.
