Michael Bohning acquired Creative Blow Mold Tooling in 2006 after 20 years in accounting and management consulting at a national firm. He grew the business with help from an incredible team of people at Creative. Creative is a leading extrusion blow mold manufacturers in the US. The company designs, manufactures, and repairs extrusion blow molds for some of the largest plastic packaging companies in North America. It employs design engineers, CNC programmers, CNC machinists, mold technicians, and quality control personnel.
In September 2020, Bohning sold the business to private investors with industry expertise. He remains part of the Creative team in the role of CFO assisting new ownership and management in the execution of their growth plans for the business.
Jeff Cooper is the General Manager of Manufacturing at R&D. Mr. Cooper started at the company as a CNC Machinist and, to this day, holds a strong connection with that trade & profession.
His career path at R&D includes CNC Machinist, Toolmaker, Manufacturing Group leader, Manufacturing Manager, Engineering Manager, Director of Quality Assurance.
Mr. Cooper is a believer in getting a foot in the door, working hard, self-discovery and a little bit of being at the right place at the right time (luck).
R&D is an international leading manufacturer and supplier of a variety of mold types for the food and beverage, personal care, and health care industries.
It is in its 45th year in Lees Summit, where its plant employs nearly 200 people, mostly Engineers, Machinists, Toolmakers.
The company also has a plant in the UK, which employs 90 people.
Danny O'Dell is the Machine Shop Foreman at JCI Industries.
