Lab Members

Radhika Sarawagi 

I did my B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from HBTI Kanpur (U.P.) and my M.Tech. from the Department of Metallurgical Engineering and Materials Science, IIT Bombay. I worked as a graduate engineer trainee at Sunrise Industries India Pvt. Ltd., Vadodara, Gujrat. From 2018–2020, I worked as a guest faculty member at HBTI Kanpur, India. To pursue my career in research and academia, I joined the Ph.D. Program at IIT Kanpur in August 2020. My research interests are aligned with transport phenomena in casting. Currently, I am working on the directional solidification of superalloys.

C. Ram Gopal

I did my B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from NIT, Durgapur, in 2020. I have directly joined the PhD program at IIT Kanpur. My research interests are aligned with droplets, evaporation, condensation, and water desalination. Currently, I am working on the droplet interaction with texture surfaces.

C. Narendra Kumar

I did my B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from RVR&JC College of Engineering, Guntur. I have directly joined as a PhD candidate at IIT Kanpur. My research interests are aligned with transport phenomena during multicomponent evaporation. Currently, I am working on the crystallization of the salt system using experiments and numerical studies.

Shashikumar Maurya

I completed my Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from Thakur College of Engineering and am currently pursuing PhD at IIT Kanpur. In addition to my academic background, I have hands-on working experience in tool and machine design, strengthening my ability to apply mechanical principles in practical scenarios. My research interests include specialized fields such as underwater welding, robotics, and transport phenomena, where I aim to contribute innovative solutions through advanced computational and experimental approaches.

Brajesh Kumar

I did my B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Punjab, India. I have completed my M.Tech. from Jadavpur University. Last year (2023), I joined the Ph.D. program at IIT Kanpur. My research interests are aligned with the welding of high-strength alloys in extreme conditions.

Fazila Javid

I completed my B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Srinagar in July 2024. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. (August 2024) in Manufacturing Sciences within the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Kanpur. My research area includes "underwater welding techniques."

Himani Kumari

I completed my B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from MMMUT (Gorakhpur), and I am currently pursuing my PhD in thermal Sciences from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Kanpur. My research work will be on the Phase change process in Underwater Welding.

Rajesh Kumar Pradhan

I got my B. Tech. from NIT Rourkela, India. I am pursuing my M. Tech. from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at IIT Kanpur. Currently, I am working on single-crystal grain selection in turbine manufacturing.
