Virginia School-based Occupational and Physical Therapy Services

We recognize variability in practice among school divisions across the Commonwealth. This website is created to provide resources to you but refrains from offering guidance. We encourage you to seek regulatory guidance from the Virginia Department of Education, your school division, and state practice acts - and professional guidance from your state and national associations.

Advancing Practice in Virginia through Collaboration

This website is designed to support the practice and professional development of occupational and physical therapy practitioners serving students, schools, and their caregivers in Virginia. We endeavor to collect an array of evidence-based resources to support you and your practice. We acknowledge each school division is unique and managed by an individualized set of policy and requirements. We encourage you to explore the resources, share your ideas, and contribute to the advancement of practice in our state!

Please check back often and share your ideas, resources and needs with us. You can reach us at plaverdu@odu.edu.
