Welcome To The Virginia Haunter Website!

Who Am I?

Hello, and I am Connor! I am the "owner" of the Virginia Haunter Haunted House home haunt, and also the owner of Virginia Haunter LLC. I started my haunted house in 2016 at the age of ten. I always thought before then that my family never put up enough Halloween decorations. It would be, "only pumpkins mom?" year after year. Eventually in 2014, my family gave in. My dad at that point was beginning to take an interest in woodworking, and volunteered to help build a few gravestones. That year, me and him built four gravestones out of pallet wood. I was pretty excited about our recent build, but wanted more. In 2015, we moved from where we were on the coast of North Carolina to where we are now in the southeastern region of Virginia. If it wasn't for the move I probably would have started our haunted house that year. We lived somewhere temporarily while our house was being built. During this time period, I gained an interest in the more professional ways of haunting. I watched more Hollywood Haunter on YouTube than you could ever believe! I learned quite a bit on the construction of pneumatic creations, which was something that I was very interested in. In 2016, we moved into our new house. It was that year I started our haunted house!

For our pretty rural location in Virginia, we were relatively pleased with the thirty or so people that attended our invite-only event. That first year, all we had was a graveyard, and the only actor we had was me! We had, though, added about eight or ten more tombstones to our collection, and had bought one or two Spirit Halloween props. The next year (2017), we added a "experience room" in our garage. I gathered inspiration for this experience from Knots Scary Farm's Skeleton Key experiences that used to be around the park. That year, we also added our famous mausoleum, which sadly retired in 2019 due to the effort it took to set up and take down. In 2018, we added our Doll Workshop walk-through experience in our garage, which built on some of the story line we had made in previous years. In 2019, we expanded our indoor walk-through, and added many great new scares. Also in 2019, we added our haunted trail, which was one of my favorite additions we had ever done! We also took donations for a charity called St. Baldrick's. I had a friend who had gotten cancer, and in his honor we took donations for St. Baldrick's!
