How to reach Pescara
Air:
Abruzzo International Airport “Pasquale Liberi” (IATA code: PSR) is located approximately 4 km from the center of the city of Pescara. It is served by multiple airlines and offers connections to Italian and foreign cities. More information available at: https://www.abruzzoairport.com/.
The airport is connected to Pescara Centrale Station and the city center by urban bus lines operated by TUA. A bus service called “Pescara Airlink” is also available, providing a direct, non-stop connection between the airport and Pescara Centrale Station. More information available at: https://www.tuabruzzo.it/linee-urbano-pescara/84.html.
Taxis are easily visible just outside the airport arrivals area, directly in front of the terminal. A ride to the center of Pescara takes about 10 minutes. If no taxis are available upon arrival, you can book one by calling Radio Taxi Pescara at +39 085 35155.
Finally, the offices of the major car rental agencies are located at Abruzzo Airport.
Train:
Pescara Centrale Station is one of the main railway hubs along the Adriatic line and is easily accessible from all parts of Italy. It is located right in the city center and is adjacent to the urban and intercity bus station, which provides connections to other destinations both within and outside the city.
Bus:
You can easily reach Pescara by public transport from anywhere in Italy. Buses to Pescara depart from major cities such as Rome, Milan, Bologna, and Naples. These services are mainly operated by FlixBus, MarinoBus, and Satam, and they almost always arrive at the Pescara Bus Terminal, which is located in the city center, right next to Pescara Centrale, the main railway station. From Rome, the Prontobus and Dicarlobus lines are also particularly active.
Sea:
In winter, reaching Pescara by boat is limited to private vessels, as ferry services to and from Pescara are suspended during the low season.

Aperitifs; pizza, ice cream, etc.
Pescara offers plenty of options for enjoying an aperitif or simply grabbing a quick bite, such as pizza or ice cream. The main areas where these venues are concentrated are primarily three:
Pescara City Center / Covered Market Area:
This area stretches along the axis connecting the central station to the seafront, including the city’s main street (Corso Umberto), Piazza Salotto, and reaching the seafront roundabout (featuring the Nave di Cascella sculpture). Along the main street and especially in the surrounding side streets, you’ll find the highest concentration of bars, wine bars, and other venues, particularly around the Covered Market area on Via Cesare Battisti, considered the heart of Pescara’s nightlife.
Pescara Vecchia:
This area lies adjacent to the Pescara River, between Corso Manthonè and Via delle Caserme, and is dotted with bars, pizzerias, restaurants, and more. It is also home to the birthplace of Gabriele D’Annunzio and the Bourbon Bathhouse (Bagno Borbonico).
The Seafront:
Pescara’s seafront remains active even in winter, though the atmosphere is naturally more relaxed compared to the summer months. The seafront promenade is still popular for walks, cycling, and enjoying the sea views, especially around landmarks like the Ponte del Mare. Some restaurants and cafés along the coast stay open year-round, offering cozy indoor dining with sea views and seasonal menus.
