Robots

This robot was not only named after the company REV Robotics, it also includes an homage to other names we considered for this robot. This season we used a Flywheel Ring Shooter Mechanism to shoot the rings, The Wobble Dropper to place the wobble goal down, and The Slope Intake Mechanism to pull the rings into the robot.

This mecanum drive robot was built for our 2018-19 season and has been our highest-scoring robot yet! It has four individually driven mecanum wheels, which gives it up to eight degrees of motion. Its lifting mechanism is a linear slide, which allows us to extend and retract at will. The "purple reign" was also our team's first-ever two pilot robot!

The robot itself was named after the song "Purple Rain" by Prince. On the day of a qualifier while trying to load up the robot it started to rain as this song came on over the radio. The stars really just aligned for this moment.
