About me
I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Section of Mathematics of the Max Planck Institute CBG in Dresden, within Heather A. Harrington's group.
My research is interdisciplinary, at the intersection of Algebraic Geometry and Representation Theory with a view towards applications to other Life Sciences. Tensors are a common denominator of my activity.
Education: I was awarded my Ph.D. in Mathematics, with label of "Doctor Europaeus", from the University of Trento, under the supervision of Alessandra Bernardi and Giorgio Maria Ottaviani. Prior to that, I got my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the University of Pisa.
Memberships: I am member of the Italian INdAM group GNSAGA and of the "Associazione Culturale Enrigo Enriques".
I firmly believe in the value of mathematical community, to be inclusive, collaborative and to stand up for democracy, equality and freedom.

Ilaria Pellegrinelli was awarded her Master's Degree with honours in Mathematics at the University of Trento, with a thesis (here) on orthogonally decomposable tensors and their application to data analysis. She will join the PhD programme at the MPI-CBG Dresden within the group of H. Harrington. Also check above for her first preprint!
