Vincent Guan
Department of Mathematics, University of British Columbia
I am a 3rd year applied math PhD candidate at the University of British Columbia (UBC), under the supervision of Elina Robeva.
I like randomness, and as luck would have it, I research it for a living. I am particularly fond of modeling and learning population dynamics in nature, including the flocking of birds, cell differentiation in developmental biology, and contaminant flow in hydrology. I develop theory and methods for inferring the underlying processes from observed snapshots.
