First and foremost, I am a 23-year resident, wife, and mother who loves Orange Village and stays informed by engaging in Planning & Zoning, Finance, and School Board meetings in addition to every single Council meeting for the last four years.
I bleed Orange and am a huge supporter of our public schools. I am a 1983 Orange High School graduate, and my sons are classes of 2019 and 2022, all having attended Orange Schools since kindergarten. I am Past-President and Lifetime Member of the Alumni Association, the youngest inductee into the Orange High School Alumni Hall of Fame, and have served as an Orange Schools emcee and liaison to the eight communities surrounding our District.
I am a 14-year Orange CSD Communications Department Staff Member (known to most students as "the picture lady" for all the photographs I take for our Orange Schools Facebook page, website, calendar and Quality Profile), past PTA Senior Parent Representative and Advisory Committee member, and six-year Lionettes Coach (35 years coaching around the country). I have served as Emcee/Moderator for "Reflections" and the PTA Health & Safety Committee including mental health & vaping panel discussions. I also serve as the school district liaison to the Chagrin Valley Chamber of Commerce, as a member of the Northwestern University (MSJ/BJS '87) Alumni Admissions Council, and as Communications Chair for the Ball State University Parents Advisory Committee.
I am an Emmy-Award winning television news journalist with 15+ years experience covering the White House and Capitol Hill politics, and local, domestic and international news.
I am a member of NSPRA (National School Public Relations Association) and OHSPRA (Ohio School Public Relations Association) with dozens of awards for outstanding coverage of our schools, including 10 "Best of the Best" in the State awards for telling the Orange Story through pictures, writing, communications, and social media.

I work fairly and effectively with people from different mindsets, negotiating for the best overall result. First, be kind.
I'm not afraid to be candid or independent-minded while remaining respectful, cooperative, accessible, and collegial. A great, civil conversation will yield the greatest results.
I believe in the value of "appreciology," and I share the positives in a situation wherenever and wherever the opportunity presents itself.
My involvement with Lander Circle Kiwanis and the Orange Senior Center inspires my understanding of and compassion for our community’s older residents.
With an Accelerated Master's Degree in Journalism from Northwestern University and years of experience covering Washington, DC politics and local news in Northeast Ohio, I know how to research issues, do my due diligence in weighing options, verifying sources, getting to the heart of a matter, and providing clear communication.
People who have worked with me in any capacity or experienced my work stand by me and will tell you I have a solid reputation and am trusted to maintain confidentiality.
As a parent of Orange CSD students and an employee of the school district’s marketing and communication team, I bridge the conversation between our community and the school and foster a spirit of teamwork, collaboration, and drive among the children of our community--our future leaders.
With an award-winning background in investigative and consumer journalism, I know the importance of listening, not just hearing. I am trained in effective, non-biased communication and have been honored for my fairness and integrity.
Orange Village is an outstanding place to live in so many ways. I love the urbanization we have seen to date, but I want to ensure that the Village remains true to its traditional roots as a charming community for all generations. Although some development is important, I believe that our priorities must include maintaining our natural resources to ensure ample green space and providing opportunities for residents to connect with safe trails for evening strolls, dog walking, bike riding, and morning jogs. It takes a solid understanding of development to be able to minimize it and balance growth with the bucolic nature of our town.
We must continue to bridge conversations between all Community Stakeholders including Village residents, the School District, Pinecrest development, and Village Administrators, as well as expand our outreach to neighboring communities.
Safety is a top priority. Our First Responders are second to none. Let's ensure that the resources are available to add security as needed through cameras, additional patrolling, and greater awareness in each development so that our youngest can continue to play in their yards without worry and our oldest are always safe at home. We also need to provide a proper environment for those who do the work for our village -- expanding our First Responders' accommodations and enhancing security measures for our village employees.
Finally, we must be stewards of fiscal responsibility, maintaining the high property values via strong schools while keeping taxes in check. Continued financial responsibility to support our outstanding community services is absolutely essential. But the bottom line isn't about numbers. It's about people. How they are engaged; what their quality of life is; how they love where they live; how they can live a life they love. And sharing that heart and passion from generation to generation.
