My Story:
In the last quarter of 2016, I joined Sapient after too much of perplexity, as heard a lot of cruddy views from my network-mates build over the period of 12 plus years, and most of their views about Sapient were focused to work culture and work life balances.
After being tagged to an assignment soon after my joining, I apprehended that my network-mates were quite correct, as I was feeling like an uneven Lego block to fit in this fast and aggressive digital-marketing CMS cosmos. And this disproportion is all because of comprehending different attitude individuals (who are always busy and hardly replies to your IM’s), no PM processes meaning you have to reinvent the wheel, staffing and people challenges as many different technologies amalgamate in the same project. With this I am seeing Sapient as a “cluster of numerous chaotic start-ups”, and I never faced such during my tenure with Infosys, amdocs and IBM. All these is now leading me to stretched working hours, overburdened, that too after long driving hours, and impacting my behavior and my health (being titled as specially-abled since last few years).
RAISE
I learnt from Bhagwad Geeta that “one should try to take happiness and sorrow periods equally – for stability and creativity” thought it’s too tough to maintain this equilibrium, but I tried. So instead of creeping my hardship period, I elevate (RAISE) my landscape from not only delivery management but to other vital dimensions, to engross Sapient and digital marketing jargons, people behavior, Sitecore CMS, oracle, ET, DT, financials, procurement's… oh my god the list is extensive.....
RISE
Over the period of time rather almost an year plus with the strong support from Sapient leadership, I am able to climb (RISE) by effectively driving the delivery for a composite and big healthcare project, crafting project reports and dashboards classified as one of the benchmarks across M&CP, ensuring intact people relationships. Even tried to learn to create a balance between life and work as I got - if it’s your life than you have to make an equilibrium, no external forces can disturb it for long.
REDEFINE
Though the world is heading towards AI and ML, but I believe the real on-ground wisdom (Sapient) and learning is understanding nature and its ecology including humans. Now I am in the process of reformulating (REDEFINE) myself as a calm and composed personal, accepting the fact that change and separating comfort is necessary to reach heights, so start stretching yourself, start learning new things, love and praise life (yourself) and people because “Life begins at the end of your comfort zone”.
During my IIM days, a professor taught us a five S theory (Sustain >> Survive >> Stability >> Success >> Significance) and now think I’m able to cognize and draw this to an extent with my till-date journey in Sapient…..!!
