Our Story

The Villanova M&A Society was founded in 2011 by Samuel Kim (VSB '12), who started as an analyst at J.P. Morgan. He was succeeded in 2012 by Brian Lutkewitte (VSB '15) and Nick LaTorre (VSB '15), who formalized the organizational structure and routine activities. Brian and Nick started as analysts at Guggenheim Partners and Moelis & Company, respectively. The society was created with the intention of teaching the ins and outs of investment banking to students.

Since 2012, the M&A Society has grown significantly, both with student involvement and member placement. The society's alumni hold positions across middle-market, bulge bracket, and elite boutique banks, with other members successfully joining private equity firms.

In 2018, the M&A Society launched the Sophomore Investment Banking Workshop with the intention of further formalizing the learning experience for its members. Curriculum topics include but are not limited to valuation, interview preparation, and networking advice.
