TheVillageGuy ("we", "us", or "our") built and operates the GPS CAMERA FREE mobile application ("the App"), available on Google Play.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that information.
The App functions entirely offline with no backend servers, no user accounts/login, and no data transmission to us or any third party we control.
1. Information We Collect
Location Information The App requests access to your device's location services (GPS) solely to add a visible watermark (e.g., latitude, longitude, and/or timestamp) directly onto photos you take within the App. This location data is processed and embedded locally on your device only. We do not collect, store, transmit, share, send, or upload your location data (or any other data) to our servers or any third party.
Photos, Media, and Local Storage Data The App accesses your device's camera to take photos and your photo gallery/media storage to allow viewing, adding tags/notes, and searching by date/tags/notes. All photos, tags, notes, and related metadata are stored and processed locally on your device. We do not collect, upload, access, or transmit your photos, media files, tags, notes, or any other content beyond what is required for on-device functionality.
No Other Personal Data The App does not collect:
Name, email address, phone number, or any personally identifiable information
Device identifiers (beyond standard Android system behavior for app operation)
Usage analytics, crash reports, advertising IDs, or any tracking data
Any data through login or registration (no such feature exists)
2. How We Use Information
We use location information exclusively to generate the GPS watermark on photos at your request. All processing occurs locally on your device. No data is sent to us or processed off-device by us.
3. Sharing of Information
We do not share, sell, rent, or disclose any personal information to third parties, as no personal information is collected or transmitted by the App.
When you choose to share a photo (via the standard Android share menu), the photo — including any embedded watermark — is sent directly to the app or service you select (e.g., messaging apps, email, social media). We have no control over, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices of those third-party services.
If a "Support Developer" feature is implemented (e.g., optional in-app purchase or donation to support ongoing development), it may involve standard Google Play Billing — any associated payment data is handled solely by Google and not collected or processed by us.
4. Data Storage and Security
All data (photos, tags, notes, watermarked images, location used for watermarking) remains exclusively on your device. We have no access to it and do not store any user data on our side.
5. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. The updated version will be posted here with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
