Other acceptable forms of payment: cash, check or money orders. We also offer Autopay. Payments are due before the 15th of the month. Bills paid on or after the 15th day shall have a $5.00 penalty charge added to their bill. Bills not paid by the 15th day of each billing month shall be deemed to be delinquent. Upon being deemed to be delinquent, the Municipal Clerk shall give written notice to the customer of such delinquency and shall demand payment immediately. In the event that the water is shut off for nonpayment of any water bill, there will be a $25 reconnect fee during office hours or $35 after hours, applied to the account. Services will not be turned back on until balance is paid in full.

Notice is hereby given that a regular meeting of the Chairperson and Board of Trustees of the Village of Litchfield, Nebraska will be held at 7:00 pm on Wednesday September 11th, 2019 in the Fire Hall, 221 North Main Street, Village of Litchfield, Nebraska, which is open to the public. An agenda for such meeting, kept continuously current, is available for public inspection at the Office of the Village Clerk, 221 North Main Street, Village of Litchfield. Except for items of an emergency nature, the agenda shall not be altered later than 24 hours before the scheduled commencement should be addressed to Kendra Johnson, Village Clerk; made in person at 221 North Main Street, via telephone at 308-446-2285, or in writing and sent to: Village of Litchfield, PO Box 166, Litchfield, NE 68852. Loup Basin Public Health Department is set up to bill most major insurances including Medicaid. Most insurances will pay full cost of flu shot. If you do not have insurance, we ask for a $15.00 donation.
Dog Licenses are due every year in May.
DOG IMPOUND FEES- All dog owners are responsible for $25.00 for first offense impound fee plus a fee of $15.00 per day if their dog is impounded. Second offense impound fee is $50.00 plus the $15.00 per day fee. Third offense impound fee is $75.00 plus the $15.00 per day fee. After the third and subsequent impound offenses the fee is $100.00 plus the $15.00 per day fee. The impound fees are to be paid before dogs will be released to the owners. If proof of rabies shot and dog license fee has not been submitted and paid prior to impound the additional fees, license and rabies shot record must be submitted to the clerk within 72 hours of release.
§6-107 DOGS; RUNNING AT LARGE. It shall be unlawful for the owner of any dog to allow such dog to run at large at anytime within the corporate limits of the Municipality. It shall be the duty of the Municipal Animal Control Officer to cause any dog found to be running at large within the Municipality to be take up and the owner notified. “Running at Large” shall mean any dog found off the premise of the owner, and not under the control of the owner or responsible person, either by leash, cord, chain, wire, rope, cage of the suitable means of physical restraint.
