Superior military might is the foundation of every successful clan. Your army must possess the fearless heart of Thor as they form, at your command. Grow your army using the various military buildings at your disposal. Strike fear into the hearts of your enemies by giving them the best upgrades, and equipment your gold can buy.

Should the resources in your village not suffice to sustain your ambitions, you can always send your formidable army out in the field for a raid. Raiding neighboring villages for resources is part of a Viking’s life, and a showcase of military power. In the snow-plagued lands of the North, power makes right, and to the victor goes the spoils.

Honor Your Clan Through Strategic Gameplay

Ambition will only remain as such if not founded on solid grounds. If you yearn to be the most powerful viking empire in this game you must combine brute strength with a strategic mind. This is ultimately an online Vikings game, and there are other players that claim themselves to be rightful to rule the realm. You must learn how to use force in times of war, and how to solve problems diplomatically in times of peace. A wise ruler knows to keep his ambitions at heart, but restrain his desires with his mind.

You can join clans early on as you strengthen your army, and increase your influence under their protection. You can then choose to continually serve their chief until you reach for glory together, or schemingly plot to defect, and create a clan of your own to serve your own desire. Be warned however that in this game, you must always keep an eye out for invaders, who are also planning your immediate demise. There is no rest for the wicked, and this is no place for the weak-willed.

Being a new Jarl in the treacherous lands in an active winner-takes-all online vikings game can be pretty intimidating. This is especially true if you’re slammed with the fact that most of your neighbors are already veteran Jarls with mountains of wealth, and huge armies. And while you’re blessed with the old gods’ protection during your first few days, you might want to make sure you’re ready to face your neighbors once they decide to leave you alone.

One of the few ways to make your new, ambitious life as a Jarl in a land plagued with war is to find an active clan. Joining a clan earlier on in the game will give you access to special shops that aren’t accessible when you’re on your own. Clan members can also help you in building your kingdom faster, so it’ll give you that necessary boost when your shields are no longer active. Helping fellow clan members also lets you earn currency which you can use to buy more boosts to help you strengthen your base faster.

Manage Your Upgrades,
Your Heroes, and Army Wisely

It’s important to understand that you need to get your priorities straight early on in the game. As soon as you finish the tutorial you would want to reach Palace level 10 as early as possible. In order to do that you’ll need to prioritize upgrading your resource buildings, the forge, and your kingdom walls. Upgrade as far as the requirement needs, and proceed to upgrade the palace. Do that until you reach the desired level.

Next is to prioritize making your hero stronger. Your hero isn’t just a pawn to boost the morale of your troops. It can also aid you in expanding your base faster. Depending on the items it has equipped, it can help boost build times, research times training, and even farming. Customizing your hero according to your needs instead of wants can make your world conquest seem like a trip to the park.

Lastly, raising a huge, versatile army can be quite the expensive endeavor. And it’s not wise to spread your upgrades across different types of troops. It’s better to upgrade a single unit as this will give you more resources to pour on other important endeavors, as well as have one advanced unit to take you across many battles. In addition, your hero can boost only one unit, and have no option to boost the others. In other words, select the unit you want to make the bulk of your army, and let them raise havoc throughout the entire realm.

Never Leave Your Kingdom
Undefended

There are times when the Jarl must go on a journey away from the kingdom to attend to more pressing matters. If this happens when the shields are down, you will be left vulnerable, and prone to pillaging from neighboring Jarls. There are also times when simply asking for your clan members’ aid may be insufficient, especially when faced with a massive army from the opposing clans.

It’s better to have an additional countermeasure, so if you have the currency, and won’t be able to log in to the game for long periods of time, you might want to consider buying a Peace Treaty. This feature gives you an impenetrable shield for a set amount of time, rendering espionage, and attacks from tyrannic kingdoms useless. So if you’re an avid player with lots of real-life commitments, consider saving up for peace treaties when you’re away.

You can level gems, and runes through the process of fusion. These magical items are divided into six classes namely in the order of lowest to highest: Simple, Usual, Unusual, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. In order to advance them to a higher class, you’ll need to collect four gems or runes of the same class. Doing so, increases the power of your runes, as well as the bonus it gives. You will also need to pay for the fusion process, and may take some time in doing so. Spending gold also completes the process immediately.

How to Inlay Gems and Runes to Your Equipment

Once you’re satisfied with the games, and runes you’ve acquired, you can inlay them to a piece of equipment. You will need to have equipment with a free rune, or gem slot in order to successfully inlay them. The number of available slots in an equipment greatly depends on its type. The following list shows the number of slots an equipment type has:

• Simple - One gem slot

• Usual - One gem slot

• Unusual - One gem slot

• Rare - Two gem slots

• Epic - Three gem slots

• Legendary - Three gem slots, and one Rune slots

Taking advantage of these runes, and gems can greatly turn the tides of any battle, and will aid you in becoming the most fearsome conqueror in the Northern Lands. Just keep in mind that there are limitations to slotting runes and equipment. One example would be is you cannot equip a Legendary rune on a Simple equipment, as the rune is of higher class than the equipment, and it has no rune slot.
