Since January 2010, I have been serving as a university-level educator in engineering education, accumulating over 16.0 years of Post-Ph.D. Experience (mostly in AGP-8000 and above) in teaching, research, and administration at esteemed academic institutions across India. At present, I am serving as Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand, Srinagar.
My teaching philosophy revolves around innovative pedagogy, emphasizing student-teacher interactions, e-learning tools, transparent evaluations, practical applications, and cutting-edge knowledge. I have taught 25 diverse courses at UG/PG levels and take pride in receiving appreciation from students of all academic backgrounds.
My research expertise lies in geotechnical engineering, focusing on soil nailing, reinforced earth, computational modeling, reliability-based analysis, and ground improvement techniques. My doctoral work contributed to the research scheme “Guidelines for Soil Nailing Technique in Highway Engineering (R-86)” sponsored by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), Government of India, New Delhi. Based on the thesis, recommendations on soil nailing analyses, design and construction are added under section 3200 in the fifth revision of MoRTH Specifications for Road and Bridge Works. With about 54 research publications in reputed journals & conferences, and supervision of a number of UG/PG projects & dissertations, I strive to inspire students to pursue a career in geotechnical engineering.
As an administrator, I have held several major responsibilities, including HoD (Civil Engineering), Associate Dean (Faculty Welfare), Associate Dean (Planning & Development), Dean (Planning & Development), and Dean (Student Welfare). Additionally, I engage in professional outreach activities, including serving on the Board of Studies, reviewing journal & conference papers, serving as a UG/PG external examiner, and participating in faculty selection committees.
I welcome collaborations in areas of mutual interest and appreciate your interest in my professional profile.
