You don't know me? Well, I'm Vika. It's nice to meet you :D
Hi! I'm Vika Nur Hidayati. An INFJ girl that likes to draw and listen to Spotify. I was born on June 11, 2006, and yes I'm a Gemini, but the introvert version.
Want to know more about me? Just talk to me. Don't be afraid of me, I don't bite people :D
Get to know more about me :D
People see me with my drawings. Yes, I'm passionate about drawings, digitally and traditionally (with art tools). I start to draw when I'm 5 years old. My current art style is cartoon/anime. I've been to a lot of drawing and coloring competitions since I'm a kindergarten student. I'm quite confident with my skill in drawing, especially in digital drawing. The most memorable moments are when I'm joining a short comic competition held by the PT.RAPP when I'm still in the ninth grade and Kemenkeu Mengajar 6 poster design competition last year (2021). I didn't win both competitions but at least I gain experience, my comic was categorized as one of the artistic artworks, and got my certificates and prize too.
On the other side, I did some editing too. Some of my friends know about this and I post it on my Instagram (@vika.chux). My editing style is AMV/PMV, but mostly I did PMVs. I'm an Alight Motion user. I'm not quite confident with my editing skill, since I can do the basic transitions and only do small animations. My dream is to have a new compatible device and try editing in After Effects. Putting aside those things, from this editor society, I met new online friends and we share the same interests.
Some of my artworks ✰
Happy Reading :)
The English language is becoming a more and more common language spoken around the world. As a result, more people dedicate themself to studying English as their second language. However, it doesn't mean we should forget our local language as it is crucial to keep our culture alive.
Nowadays, due to the advancement of technology people can meet new people from other countries. English language solves the problem of the language barrier and keeps people communicating with each other. Learning English is very useful for us, not only for communicating but also improves our self n personality and self-worth. Furthermore, having a well-spoken English language helps us to have more opportunities in our life, especially in building our careers. Therefore, learning English is necessary to help us survive in this global era.
But this doesn't mean we put aside our local language and forget it. People have good self-worth not only by learning English, but also they gain knowledge from local people and the community. It is hard for us to know our own culture and tradition about food, clothes, and others if we can't understand our local language since not all the local people may know how to speak English. Prevention of local language extinction is needed to keep a culture alive for the next generation. Don't make culture extinct because culture is an important identity for a certain area.
In conclusion, English is needed for us to learn as it helps us live in this global era. But it doesn't mean we put aside and forget our local language as this language is one of the identities for a certain area, moreover kept us surviving until now.
United Nations Day, on 24 October, marks the anniversary of the entry into force in 1945 of the UN charter. This celebration is meant to educate the public on issues of concern, mobilize political will and resources to address the global problem and celebrate and reinforce the achievements of humanity. This year's (2022) theme is 'End racism build peace'. On the same day, we, as the Mutiara Harapan students also celebrate UN day. The celebration was held at the JHS building. JHS students are in charge of organizing the celebration. They presented 7 booths with 7 different names of countries and each of the countries present unique items. Indonesia, Japan, South Africa, Europe, South Korea, and India.
At the Indonesian booth, they exhibited some of the uniqueness of Indonesia. Like the members who dress each other in batik and kebaya, showing Ulos which is a specialty of the Batak tribe, selling some regional foods such as Lemet, Bolu Kamojo, and Rengginang. What surprised me was that they were selling some of the old toys that were popular with us when we were little and the internet wasn't growing that fast. It brings back childhood memories.
The booth that caught my attention the most was the Japan booth. They display cosplay, which is one of the Japanese culture's ways of attracting attention. One of their members cosplayed a character from the Omnyoji Arena game named Yuki Onna. Not only that, but they also display a replica of the katana, a traditional Japanese game (Kendama), provide free coloring sheets with samurai images, sell stickers with pictures of anime characters and traditional Takoyaki snacks, and they also provide open commission and art printing services. It didn't stop there, we, the visitors, could write our wishes on a piece of paper and hang it on a tree branch. I have a lot of fun here.
South Korea's booth is also one of the most visited. We, the visitors can wear their traditional clothes called Hanbok by paying IDR 10k. In addition, we can make names in Korean based on our birth date. Mine is Park Hee Woo.
At the Mexico booth, they were named Sombrero which symbolizes Mexican culture. Their supervisor (the teacher) wears face paint and fashions like a Mexican.
Continuing to the India booth, they showed some of their specialties, such as those who wore Shari for the women and Dhoti for the men. They also show some of their spices which in my opinion have a stronger smell than Indonesia's spices. They also showed off some charming accessories. In addition, they also show Jai mala which is a bouquet consisting of flower arrangements that are exchanged between newlyweds.
I hope that with this UN day celebration, we can all get to know their culture. And also the realization of peace and the end of racism as in their theme. I think it would be better if they showed more uniqueness in each of the more iconic countries.
Some people think that teenagers should concentrate on all subjects at school. Others believe that teenagers should focus on the subject they are best at or they are most interested in. To what extent do you agree?
Nowadays, people often argue about whether students should concentrate on all subjects or certain subjects their best at. This is often issued to children below seventeen years when they are about to go to university. In this essay, I will look at both points of view.
To begin with, I agree with the statement on students should give their focus on all subjects. All subjects at school are equally important to strengthen the student's knowledge, so they can perform well in academic activity. Firstly learning all subjects will give the student basic knowledge of the different aspects which allow them to pass the minimum criteria in each subject. Secondly, it makes the student smarter as it enriches their intelligence. Just as importantly, it gives the student a wide range of understanding that helps them to adept in social life such as people will prefer to talk or discuss a topic with them as they get the main idea and can elaborate more.
On the other side, I disagree with the opinion student should concentrate on all of the subjects. Because as we know every child is unique, and not all children could give other best in all of the subjects offered at school. Focusing on the best subject they are best at will give them a positive impact, for instance, they could enjoy the subject more and get motivated to study. However, they also should be aware of other subjects they are not good at, but at least they could pass the minimum grade, as it is also one of the requirements to graduate from high school.
In conclusion, I think that teenagers not only should learn in every area, but they can also spend more time with their gifted ones. Strengthen their personal skill for their future.
Every country has its own holidays. If I could invent a new holiday, it would be Self-Love Day. This holiday is celebrated annually before valentine's day. Because we need to love ourselves before we start to love other people. Although it sounds simple, I think it should be celebrated.
First of all, to celebrate this day, people don't have to spend the whole day in their normal workday activities. We can take some time off and do our favorite things like picking up our childhood hobbies and baking a cake or cooking our favorite food. Use our favorite moments to put a smile on our faces.
Second, meditate on self-love, as it is one of the most effective ways to quickly boost our feelings of self-love. In addition, it can relieve our stress and refresh our minds.
No less than writing a letter to ourselves. Write us a letter of apology first. We can simply write, "I forgive myself..." and then note any regret, embarrassment, or resentment, and then read the letter to ourselves to release the negativity of what we wrote. Then we write a thank you letter. On the flip side of the letter of forgiveness is to write ourselves a letter of gratitude. What qualities, abilities, traits, and characteristics are we grateful for? It also serves to reflect on ourselves, what we have done and what we can improve about ourselves
In short, my holiday appeals to anyone who has their own personality and should be proud of who they are.
