Assistant Professor,

Department of Physics

Dr. Vijay Pratap Yadav received the B.Sc (Hons). degree in Physics from Institute of Science, BHU, Varanasi, India, in 2013, and the M.Sc. degree in Physics from the Indian Institute of technology, Delhi in 2015 and the Ph.D. degree in Physics (Specialization - Microwave Remote Sensing) from the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Varanasi, India, in 2020. He was a Visiting Researcher with the Space Application Center (ISRO), Ahmadabad, from May 2017 to December 2017. As a Visiting Researcher, he contributed to synthetic aperture radar (SAR) algorithms for biophysical parameter retrieval and monitoring from space platform. His research interests include microwave remote sensing with applications of PolSAR (polarimetric synthetic aperture radar) for crop classification, vegetation biophysical parameters retrieval, develop novel radar vegetation indices, and crop yield forecasting using satellite data. Dr. Vijay P. Yadav was a recipient of the DST - ITS Award under Young Scientist category by the SERB, New Delhi in 2019.

Currently, Dr. Vijay Pratap Yadav is a Assistant Professor at Department of Physics, Government P.G. College, Obra, Uttar Pradesh, India. His research interest includes PolSAR and PolInSAR theories and techniques for earth observations applications using remotely sensed data.
