Rice paddies, limestone karsts, and a night on the water.

This is a trip that alternates between motion and stillness - cycling through Ninh Binh's countryside one day, drifting past Ha Long Bay's islets the next, then losing yourself in Hanoi's Old Quarter before it's time to go home.

This is your day-by-day journey. 

Day 1 - Ha Noi arrival - overnight stay in Ha Noi

Day 2 - Ha Noi - Ninh Binh - overnight stay in Ha Noi 

Day 3 - Ha Noi - Ha Long Bay - overnight stay on cruise 

Day 4 - Ha Long Bay - Ha Noi - overnight stay in Ha Noi 

Day 5 - Ha Noi - full-day city tour - Train Street - overnight stay in Ha Noi

Day 1

Ha Noi Arrival

Landing in the Old Quarter

Our private car and guide pick you up from the airport and take you straight to your hotel in Ha Noi, with drop-off included.

Day 2

Ha Noi - Ninh Binh

Rivers, Rice Paddies & a Dancing Cave

Breakfast at the hotel.

• 7:30 am: Pick-up by our friendly guide, depart for Ninh Binh province

• 9:15 am: Short break, 15-20 minutes to relax

• 10:30 am: Visit Hoa Lu, ancient capital of Vietnam (between 968 and 1010) - a chance to learn about Vietnamese history in the feudal system under the Dinh, Le, and Ly Dynasty

• 11:45 am: Lunch

• 1:00 pm: Visit Trang An, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 2014

• 3:00 pm: 45-minute cycling tour around the village to see local life

• 3:45 pm: Back on the limousine bus, depart for Mua Cave (Dancing Cave) - walk almost 500 steps to reach the top of Lying Dragon Mountain for a panoramic view of Tam Coc

• 5:00 pm: Bus back to Hanoi

Day 3

Ha Noi - Ha Long Bay

A Night on the Water

Breakfast at the hotel.

• 8:00 am: Pick-up at the Old Quarter, transfer from Hanoi to Halong Bay by shuttle bus

• 11:30 am: Arrive at the Lily Cruise check-in lounge - time to refresh after the drive

• 12:15 pm: Check-in aboard the Lily Cruise, welcome drinks, itinerary and safety briefing from the Cruise Manager

• 1:00 pm: Buffet lunch while the boat cruises toward the southeast of Halong Bay, passing Fighting-Cock and Finger Islet

• 2:30 pm - 4:00 pm: Transported to Luon Cave by boat - explore by kayak or bamboo boat (optional)

• 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Hike to the top of Ti Top Island for panoramic views of the bay, then a swim in Halong Bay's emerald waters or a coconut in the shade

• 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm: Sunset party back on board, with happy hour - buy 2 get 1 free on drinks at Lily Thalassius Bar or the Sundeck

• 7:15 pm: Dinner under the stars

• 8:30 pm: Karaoke, drinks at Lily Thalassius Bar, or free squid fishing tools from reception

Day 4

Ha Long Bay - Ha Noi

Sunrise Tai Chi & the Cave of Surprises

• 6:00 am: Tai Chi lesson on the sundeck as the sun rises over Halong Bay

• 7:00 am - 7:30 am: Light breakfast at the restaurant

• 7:30 am - 8:30 am: Visit Sung Sot Cave, one of the biggest caves in Ha Long Bay, with dramatic stalactites and a panoramic bay view on exit

• 8:30 am - 9:30 am: Back on board, settle your bill, check out, return to Tuan Chau Island

• 9:45 am - 10:45 am: Brunch served as the boat heads back to the harbor

• 10:45 am - 11:00 am: Disembark at Tuan Chau Marina, return to Hanoi

Day 5

Ha Noi - City Tour, Full Day

Temples, Lakes & Train Street

Breakfast at the hotel. At 8:30am, our guide picks you up from the hotel for the city tour.

Day 6

The Flight Home

Breakfast at the hotel. Our private car transfers you from the hotel to catch your flight back home.

Any cancellations 10 days before the commencement of the trip, advance will not be refunded.
