Kayak Academy Austria / Vienna Wasserarena (Water Sports Arena)
For the Summer 2025 season, we are partnering again with Kayak Academy Austria to offer classes to our members. Members will have opportunities to practice on artificial rapids in the Wasserarena (see map).
The Academy also offers equipment rental discounts for our members!
The facility is located on the Donauinsel, near the Steinspornbrücke, a short bus or car ride or a 20-minute relaxing bike ride from the VIC.
Please note that as of May 2022 the parking direction is changed so enter the parking from where you used to exit, and kindly note that this is a kurz park zone so do not forget to use your Handypark App!
For the Summer 2025 season, we are partnering again with The Pirklalm Alpine Lodge for lodging during whitewater weekend trips.
The lodge is surrounded by forests and meadows. For summer visitors numerous hiking, running and cycling trails run directly from the lodge. There are lots of lovely valleys to explore, not to mention the exquisite Bodensee with its fish restaurants just over an hours hike away.
Within a short drive, is the village of Gröbming, where you will find the attractive public panorama swimming pool as well as the Mitterberger toboggan run.
The Pirklalm Alpine Lodge
The Pirklalmhütte is located on an idyllic plateau surrounded by pastures 5 km above PRUGGERN in the Ennstal, Styria, 4.3 km from Gröbming, 14 km away from Schladming.
