Dr. Vidura Jayasooriya is a Senior Member of Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (IEEE), Chartered Electrical Engineer and a Researcher with 8+ years of experience in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Currently, He is serving as a Systems Engineering Senior Specialist at Essential Energy, NSW, Australia. He obtained his B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2014 from the University of Peradeniya. He obtained his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from North Dakota State University, USA in 2020. Prior to moving in to Australia, he served as a senior Lecturer at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
He has co-authored many publications including peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and a book chapter. Further, he possesses an International Patent for a Cancer therapeutic device. Apart from his academic and research work, he has volunteered in contributing to society and has served as the Chair of the IEEE EMBS( Engineering in Medicine and Biology) Sri Lanka section and has held many positions in IEEE, IET and other Engineering Organizations.
