General Hiking Links:
- Stream Crossing: There are only minor streams getting to Vidette, so this is not a big issue. If you sign up for something more extended (common with our crew), this is a great article to review.
- Leave no Trace: Yep, we're serious about this - we want to keep the wilderness wild (and clean). Everyone on this trip should be familiar with these principles.
- Basic Pooping: You will need this. No there are no toilets in the woods. Things are just different and you need to behave differently. If you are new to the trail, this will get you started
- Altitude Sickness: A matter of fact article from Princeton.edu about prevention and treatment of Altitude Sickness (which is possible any time you go above 8000 ft)
- Altitude Sickness - Training: Here is a collection of training suggestions that will lessen Altitude Sickness susceptibility on a hike.
- Weather Forecast at Vidette: National Weather Service website for the specific location at Vidette (their best guess anyways). Scroll down to the "Detailed Forecast" and note the map details on the right (elevation and location)
