Flag Application Company ("we", "us", or "our") operates the mobile application Video Player - Android TV (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information when you use it on Android TV and Android devices.
We designed Video Player - Android TV as a local media player. We do not operate user accounts, advertising networks, or backend servers that collect your personal data.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not collect personal data and transmit it to our servers.
Most data stays on your device.
The App may connect to networks and storage you configure, such as local files, USB storage, SMB/NAS shares, and stream URLs you enter.
We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs.
2. Information Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following information locally on your device to provide its features:
User profiles: profile names, optional PIN codes, avatar selections, and kids-profile settings.
Watch history: video titles, file or stream locations (URIs), playback position, duration, last watched time, and favorite status.
Media library data: scanned video titles, file paths or URIs, categories, and related metadata derived from filenames and folders.
App settings: playback preferences such as resume playback, background playback, subtitle settings, aspect ratio, speed, and display adjustments.
Network server settings: names, host addresses, usernames, passwords, and share names for SMB/NAS connections you add.
Cached thumbnails: generated preview images for videos stored in the App cache.
This information is used only to operate the App on your device. It is not uploaded to Flag Application Company.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or receive on our servers:
Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address
Precise location data
Contacts, photos, messages, or call logs
Payment or billing information
Advertising identifiers for ad tracking
Analytics or usage statistics sent to us
The App does not require account registration.
The App uses internet and local network access only to provide features you choose:
Playing videos from HTTP, HTTPS, HLS, or DASH URLs you enter
Connecting to SMB/NAS servers and shares you configure
Accessing media on your local device, connected storage, or home network
These connections are made between your device and the sources you select. Video content, credentials, and network traffic are not sent to Flag Application Company.
The App may request the following Android permissions:
Internet and network state: to stream videos and connect to network storage.
Read media/video storage: to scan and play local video files.
Notifications: to show background playback controls when that feature is enabled.
Foreground service and wake lock: to continue media playback in the background when enabled.
You can manage some permissions in your device settings. If required permissions are denied, related features may not work.
The App includes an optional Crash Reports setting. If you enable it, basic crash details may be written to the device system log (Logcat) to help diagnose problems. These reports are not automatically sent to Flag Application Company or any third-party service.
7. Third-Party Services and Libraries
The App uses open-source and platform libraries such as AndroidX, Jetpack Compose, Media3 ExoPlayer, Room, DataStore, Coil, OkHttp, and SMB client components to provide playback and file access. These libraries operate on your device as part of the App.
The App does not include third-party advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs.
Data processed by the App is stored locally on your device. Network credentials for SMB/NAS connections are saved in the App's local storage on your device. You are responsible for securing access to your device and home network.
No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but we do not transmit your media library, watch history, or network credentials to our own servers.
9. Data Retention and Deletion
App data remains on your device until you delete it by:
Clearing the App's storage or cache in Android settings
Uninstalling the App
Removing saved network servers, profiles, favorites, or watch history within the App where available
If Android backup is enabled on your device, some App data may be included in your device backup according to your device and Google account settings. Flag Application Company does not control device backup behavior.
The App supports optional kids profiles for organizing content on a shared device. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children online because the App does not collect personal information through our servers. Parents and guardians should supervise use of the App and network features on shared devices.
11. Your Choices and Rights
Because the App stores data locally, you can control your information by managing App settings, deleting stored network servers, clearing App data, or uninstalling the App.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or other regions with privacy laws, you may contact us regarding privacy questions related to the App. Since we do not maintain user accounts or remote personal data files, most requests will involve explaining how local device storage works or assisting with App-related privacy questions.
The App is provided by Flag Application Company and can be used internationally. Any information processed by the App remains on your device unless you choose to connect to your own network services or media sources.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
